A clean, comfy and spacious accommodation located in a beautifully modern neighbour overlooking the mountains. Stunning floor to ceiling windows with two patios. Bedrooms overlook the central courtyard area. We enjoyed our time there. The apartment was well stocked and the beds were very comfy. Marg provided great local recommendations. Many wonderful things to do within an hour drive.

Historic house with cozy rooms. Love the owner’s collection of books and maps around the house.
David and Andy were lovely and we really enjoyed the breakfast every morning.
Food at the restaurant beside it was also fantastic! Overall a great stay!

We stayed in Cromwell to do the stunning bicycle trail from...
We stayed in Cromwell to do the stunning bicycle trail from Cromwell to Clyde about 40+ km. We rented e-bikes at ShebikeHebike and they dropped it off in Cromwell. The trail is alongside the Dunstan lake and a water ferry back to Cromwell is worth it.
It's a beautifull town with lots of fresh fruit stalls along the road.
The Highlands motorsport park is also a must do. Go-carts,Mini Golf,and maybe a fast lap in a Lamborgini before lunch at the resturant. The grounds are very neat and well maintained.
Don't just go to Queenstown without a visit to Cromwell and Clyde...

I was only in Alex for the one night, for a wedding. The place is very clean, typical of NZ country township. All the usual shops, pub, petrol stn, golfcourse and nic nac shops. Great weather, sunny and warm

Clyde is a beautiful town close to many things to do.
Clyde is a beautiful town close to many things to do. The town itself has old world charm but still the ammenties you would want. Great for rail trail people, or just people travelling like us. They have some lovely little shops, restaurants and cafes. Its really nice to walk around. The Packing Shed gallery and Cafe is a must visit. Then food here is to die for. It was a surprising discovery for us and the best thing. The Gardens are stunning and its beautiful to sit out on a nice day. This is not a kid friendly venue with is beautifully crafted food with lovely wines, it is for us adults who want some peace and quite. But the skill shown by this team was outstanding. As was the service. Cromwell is half an hour one way with all the vinyards. Half an hour the other way is Alexander. If you go past Alexander there is the small town of Roxburgh. We had a lovely time exploring the small shops, lovely local craft shop. They have a great pie shop and cafe's. Then you have all the fresh fruits, cherries, strawberries and apricots. There is a distillery making Gin and ciders and some liquors that is worth a stop. There is an amazing food truck restaurant that looks very unique unfortunately we had eaten so didn't try it.

We picked Ranfurly to stay as a central point to reach other areas we wanted to tour, and got that entirely right. Great service from the I-site, and the council office staff too, when we had some business to do.
I'm amused that your questions say '' ýoung couples like you''. We're both 81!

Lots of history, old stone and cob buildings, stone walls, the dam is fascinating
Enjoyed a very peaceful night at Granny Stringers Cottage
Ate lunches at 103 The Store
Shopped at several places
The On The Rox co-op is great, hosts arts from 23 local art & crafts folk
Feinerman's General Store is very well stocked
Up the road is a delightful mobile cafe - The Rusty Petticoat. Def worth checking out!

Not that much in Millers Flat itself - although Fagans Cafe...
Not that much in Millers Flat itself - although Fagans Cafe is well worth a stop - however Millers Flat provides an excellent base for exploring the rest of the area whether that be the cycle trail, or fishing on the Clutha or Lake Onslow.

In Cromwell for a four day sporting event.
In Cromwell for a four day sporting event. Loved the place and only downer was an out of season cold and windy long weekend, but that was out of anyones control. Loved the resturants, Nicols Cafe and Highlands Motorsport Park away from my sporting destination.

Places to go to are not far to travel
You can go to Clyde.Queenstown . Wanaka. Cromwell all between 15 minutes to hour and half lovely scenery 😀there is a lot of history up and round Cromwell and the gold mines
