Absolutely stunning location. Room was small but adequate as there were only 2 of us. Large shared kitchen/dining room for guests to use. Had all the appliances you would need and several fridges for guests to keep their food in. Visitors Centre was literally a minutes walk and The Hermitage hotel 2 minutes walk. Would highly recommend.

Not so many people during the first night, there is a toilet and a sink in the dorm so that's good.
A good surprise, they provide a towel for all the guests.
It's quite rare to see that for backpackers.
I drove from Picton to Glentanner (8 hours drive) it's really good that they let you do a late check-in.
It's not completely indicated in their description but they let your key in the mailbox with the instruction.

I love the balcony so much!
Unluckily, we stayed in this motel for 3 day and 2 night and it was raining since the second day of living. However, we can still enjoy the wonderful balcony view all the time.
Parking space is very adequate, and the restaurant view there is also wonderful.

The place is lovely and in the middle of nature, the best we had on our 10 days trip on the south island. We stayed in 'Tom's hut', this is detached from the main building but right next to it. The hut is very cosy and the heating is very strong. We also really liked the common areas with the big kitchen and the fireplace with firewood. While staying there, we hiked across the farm and beyond on land that's not public to enjoy the beautiful scenery, a unique experience. Thanks Alana for being so helpful and for her kids showing us the farm animals :)

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.

Awesome landscape views and friendly info center staff, but some tourist sites such asTasman Glacier and White of the toilets had signs "Closed during Winter", which was so inconvenient for tourists.

Hooker valley trek is the main attraction there and it is closed right now
The alternate to that trek is the Sealy Tarns trek which is pretty okay
There are not too many options to eat there so it is a better option to buy your own food before you get here as there arent grocery shops here as well.

We loved the convenient location of the mount cook village.
We loved the convenient location of the mount cook village. It was nice being so close to the hermitage where all the activities were based from. Even though the motel/lodge was less luxurious than the hermitage, the rooms were still very lovely (and had heated floors!). Although it wasn't the best value compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip, the convenient location makes it very worth it.
