I have stayed here previously with absolutely no dramas at all with clean and comfortable rooms and had 2 nights booked again but unfortunately did not get to stay this time around as I was in a car crash on my way to check in however when I called to let them know I won't be staying after all they were very understanding and contacted me the following day to check in and let me know that they held on to my booking for the 2nd night if I needed it. I was very appreciative of their kindness throughout the process. Thank you Tides staff

CanadaThe staff were very helpful and friendly. We were treated very well. We had a room in the Lodge and loved it. The shower was great, and the kitchenette was well supplied. Lots of nice towels and our room was serviced when we wanted. There's a laundry for guests
The view from our room was fantastic, overlooking a beautiful garden area as well as the soccer fields and the beach area. We were steps from 3 pubs, all a little different from each other, although we favored Smugglers because of its extensive options and a terrific lunch special. Close to everything anyone could need. Tahunanui Beach offers lots of activities for adults and children and only a short 5 to 10 minute walk away. Such a perfect location. Highly recommend staying here.

Had a fantastic stone grilled rump steak which I cooked myself at the table in the restaurant.

In an amazing spot right near the beach! Close to most restaurants but on a quiet street so no issues with noise. Sofa bed was comfy, and we slept comfortably with 5 people in the room. Everything is really well set out in the rooms and the park. Staff were helpful and the rooms had everything we needed. All in all pretty great!

Nelson is my favorite place to go to.
Nelson is my favorite place to go to. I traveled up from Christchurch to collect a new car and was able to spend the day and night wandering around the city. My go to place is the Cathedral, steeped in history and with stunning really old trees. Lit two candles for my loved ones, gave a donation for the beautiful buildings' upkeep and soak up the spiritual atmosphere. Able to sit on the grass under a Black gum which was huge, relax and enjoy the smell of the pines.
Fabulous food trucks and cafes.
Easy to walk around, just a fabulous place.
I would highly recommend it.

This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond.
This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond. However there is a path where you can walk to Stoke in at about 45 minutes. Richmond has many shops and supermarkets. Stoke has two supermarkets and a few shops.

Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually).
Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually). Seems well set up and well kept for visitors and the community in general. Rubbish bins, seating in the CBD.
Ebus is a great way to get around (especially with a Bee card). Cheap and every 30mins a bus goes somewhere!
City gardens are really pretty and nice for a peaceful stroll though.

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food...
Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies.
Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money
The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.
