Very friendly family! The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had a beautiful view over the Lake!
Lucrecia cooked for us and every meal was delicious (fresh vegetables and potatoes from their own garden!).
Isabel (their daughter) was our guide to the Pachatata; from here we had a beautiful view over the Island and Lake Titicaca. The next day we went for a walk with Richar, he showed us another part of the Island. The Island is so beautiful and calming! I really enjoyed my stay with the family!

I had the most beautiful time on Amantani island thanks to Jose Luis and Pilar. They are both so attentive and kind! Jose Luis came to meet me at the port and help with my bags and Pilar sent me off.
I am vegan and they even cooked vegan meals for me and I learned weaving from Pilar. We spent such special time together. The rooms are clean and the views are amazing!!! A home away from home and I consider them family now. Can't wait to return.

The best thing about our stay were the hosts, kind, friendly, willing to have long conversations with us despite our average levels of Spanish!
They went irbid their way to make us feel really comfortable, the whole family were fantastic, they would make sure that we were heading in the right direction by sending a family member with us part of the way when we went to walk to the Pacha Mama and Pacha Tata. Mari Luz even walked us to the harbour on the day of our departure.

Sophia's house is located very close to Amantani's main square. The rooms overlook a patio and, most importantly, the lake view is heavenly.
Sophia is an incredible person, who will do everything to pamper you and share her culture, especially her delicious cuisine.
A must-do excursion on this peaceful island steeped in history.

Authentic, unique homestay experience. Shower is topped up by Ernesto with water from the spring, warmed by the sun. Immaculate toilets with chamber pots for emergencies! Immerse yourself in Amantani life. Diego was on hand as a tour guide, and with heaps of knowledge, he showed us Amantani. Ilda, his sister, and mum Juana delivered amazing local food, dish after dish of local food. With comfy beds topped with llama blankets, we had an exceptional stay. From sharing English phrases for Quechua with Ernesto to drinking local tea, watching the sunsets, to hiking the local trails, I can not recommend enough.

Isla (island) Amantaní and Taquile are both very remote, about a three hour boat ride from Puno,
But I would highly recommend going for a very unique and traditional experience with a Peruvian family. When you book a tour, they usually take you to both islands, but an overnight with a family on Amantaní. I would recommend two nights because it is far and then you have time to fully relax and enjoy the community!! It was also fun to stay in the home with other travelers, four other people from three different countries in Europe! We hiked to the top of the island for sunset where there is a beautiful memorial/ worship site for Pachamama (Mother Earth). Also, the food prepared in our home was very delicious.😊

This is the most peaceful place on earth.
This is the most peaceful place on earth. The island offers the most sacred experiences. We spent two nights there, eat completely organic food from the garden, our host was amazing. If you want an authentic Lake Titicaca experience, this is it. Their 11 year old son took us to the fountain of youth, the Pachamama and Pachatata temples on top of the mountain. We had a wonderful experience with a local Shaman. This place is well cared for, host and family are the most loving people, sharing their lifestyl with their guest. There are no cars on the island, you walk everywhere. The boat ride to their place was breath taking as it is on the south side of the island, very private and quite.
