This state-of-the-art venue hosts international competitions at its racetrack, karting and off-road paths, making it a must for motorsports enthusiasts.
Scuba diving is among the most common touristic activities off the Algarve’s coastline.

Albufeira?
Albufeira? Get's a bad wrap due the Strip and its association with the worst kind of British/Irish tourists. Hens/Stags - men with no tops on and women in bikinis at breakfast. After a busy season of dealing with the worst kind of tourists the workers like the November slow down. Some shops, bars cafe's restaurants close. Ideal time to enjoy a quieter existence in a pleasant climate away form the crass commercial run up to Christmas. Santa is here alright - but he is gold and subtle.
The coastline is beautiful and the boat trips run the whole year.
Quiet beaches where you can mellow out with a book dot the new and old towns coastlines. Families : this is a great place for fun filled family holidays ....swimming pools in cheap places, water parks, the tourist train, boat trips ...the kids will not get bored.
£ Euros : an English Irish breakfast can be had at the Waterline Restaurant for 5 Euros a pop, Self cater ? Your groceries bills will be cut in half. Food produce healthy, a nice table wine litre for 85 cence a pop.
Flixbus runs from the bus station in town - cheap to go visit other places. The locals are a good laugh, GNR and Municipal keep order.
If I was still a European Union chick would stay here for good.

Faro has a contrast in neighborhoods.
Faro has a contrast in neighborhoods. Some parts look really rundown and others not so much. Given this city is in the Algarve region, a lot of visitors must come through, and this has given the city a bit of an edge (this observation is based only on a couple of days in Faro, during the "shoulder" travel season in Portugal).

The cliff walk was spectacular - easily accessible from the old town.
The old town itself is great to hang around in with great bars and fantastic restaurants - can’t recommend Ciuccio enough - not the cheapest but the best food and service.

Amazing beach’s avoid town center even if close to beautiful beaches that are stunning memories of true Algarve but the city itself is very poor , ugly and just a nonsense buildings old to new mixed with no likely or history and cultural care. Outside town center beautiful views , walks and beach’s .

Visited many times, love the marina, golf courses and restaurants ( Braganca Mar, Pescador, Grace's, United Kitchens of India Casa Pituxa).
Parts of Vilamoura are starting to look a little tired and would benefit from investment/ cleaning to refresh it.

We stayed for 6 nights which was a night or two more than required.
Tavira is an interesting town and we enjoyed a Fado performance in one of the beautiful churches. It has a wide choice of good eateries and trips are available to local attractions like the island.
However, we were glad we took the option of taking the train to Faro for one day and to the crossingbto Spain on a small ferry on another day.
Tavira is close to Spain. The ferry port in Portugal is an attractive town as is its couterpart onthe Spanish side.

Easy to get around, lovely beach, lots of beautiful places to eat. We stayed for 4 days and it was a perfect amount of time as we didn't plan any day trips. Bolt taxi - an excellent service and we would highly recommend the Wyndham Hotel.

Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.

Amazing place lots of restaurants and bars but it is all spaced out if you have good legs this is no problem.
Of course you can hire a car and drive out at night but if you want to drink you need to walk as we didn't see 1 taxi on our 9 night stay. Find accommodation near to Mareta beach as that's about central.
Very young area lots of fit surfing people day and night which is great. There are 3 beaches within walking distance Tonel is the one for surfing if you can do!! Mareta beach is the nicest of the 3. There are many more you can drive to. The fort is interesting. Can be very windy as it is on the cliff top! We love the Algarve the whole lot of it I am addicted to it.

Beautiful fishing village with gorgeous coastal views.
Beautiful fishing village with gorgeous coastal views. I loved the fact that there were no high rise buildings. Very quaint and charming location, and centrally located to visit other parts of the Algarve coast!
