When we arrived, we were right away greeted by a smiling Ricardo. He made us feel welcome. The young man at the front desk- Pedro - helped us carry our luggage up the stairs to our room. The next morning, the kitchen staff asked us if we wohud like fried eggs - and made them specially for us - as we wanted them. The place was quiet and also close to town by car. The beaches were amazing!

The room was very confortable and big, with side view to the sea. The pool is great, and big enough to swim. Breakfast was very good, with so much variety! The hotel is 5 min walk to the closest beach and 10 min beatiful walk to the village. Really enjoyed the stay.

We arrived at our destination by bicycle, embarking on an unforgettable tour of Portugal. The staff truly exceeded our expectations, and the hotel’s prime location in the heart of town made it easy to explore everything on foot. If you happen to arrive late, don’t worry; the on-site restaurant is exceptional, and breakfast is a delightful treat. For fellow cyclists, there's a designated area behind the reception desk to securely lock up your bike. It's a smaller space, so I highly recommend calling ahead.

Alma Lusa is such a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location in Comporta. The staff are fantastic, breakfast was delicious and the pool side quiet and relaxing. A gorgeous oasis not far from the beach and a lovely winery.

We stayed here out of the blue due to the electricity outage what a godsend it was as we were almost out of fuel in the car and couldn’t fill up until the next morning. The lady behind reception was lovely and showed us to the room which exceeded our expectations it had a spacious living room area with tv and a kitchen area with dining furniture at the other.A nice spacious bedroom and bathroom with plenty of towels not that we could shower wash or flush the loo until the next morning after the water came back with the power. There was a nice pool area with loungers and the downstairs rooms had nice terraces with outdoor furniture. We had no electricity until 12.30 am. But the next morning things were back to normal and we had a nice breakfast in the hotel dining room.The little town was lovely very lovely area over looking the ocean about ten minutes walk from the hotel with benches and picnic tables. Really enjoyed our unplanned visit and would recommend

Everything. The bungalow is comfortable and has everything needed. Love the natural swimming pool. To add up the staff are very friendly, professional and always willing to provide the best experience. I simple love it and will return for sure. Was a great break from the “concrete jungle” 🙂

The hotel is located in the most beautiful pine tree park I've ever seen. It is all about serenity and harmony with nature. The food was exceptional - fresh locally sourced products of highest quality, prepared by great chefs :) I especially recommend trying the Food Circle restaurant.

I’ve been camping in this camping place for around 25 years and it has been always the best. It was the 1st time in the apartments, it’s nothing fancy but it was clean and it’s very big. They even “lend” us some cats to keep us company.

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town .

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town . We came for a night and stayed for a fortnight. The supermarkets amd cafés are plentiful. There are many beautiful beaches and interesting things to see. The local bus takes you to pretty towns and villages nearby. Its a lovely place to have a holiday.

Lovely hostess, fabulous location high up so we enjoyed the sunset. Apartment was very clean & well equipped, large, comfortable bed. Wifi very strong. Nice luxury whilst walking 12 days of the Fisherman's trail. Beware the Mercado in the town was closed at 3.30 so we purchased sardines, cheese & wine fir our dinner at the apartment as it us 2.5km out of town

Almograve is a beautiful town close to an amazing beach. The town itself was smaller than the surrounding towns with less amenities , like restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for one night so it was fine. We walked down the road to the beach to enjoy an amazing sunset. The weather was beautiful while we were there. ,

Sines was quiet when we visited, and I would guess it only gets small numbers of tourists. It has a lovely beach with fishing boats on one side of the bay/harbour and heading South, along the coast is industrial/oil refinery. You don't really see this from the town but I think this is why there are fewer visitors than would otherwise be expected of this town with the castle overlooking the crescent beach. A pleasant, quiet town. We ate at Merceara27 and it was great, with live music.

It was low season and there was not much going on.

It was low season and there was not much going on. It appears that apart from the beach and one golf club there is not so much to be done in Troia. There were a few restaurants but not that many. Supermarket in the village was extremely, expensive

The apartment was not in Comporta which was about 15 mins drive away. I would not recommend visiting in March as there was very little to do nearby. It is probably a lovely place to stay in the Summer months

I don’t expect all hotels to be accessible for the elderly...

I don’t expect all hotels to be accessible for the elderly or disabled but I do believe booking.com should clearly indicate when a facility is NOT suitable for us. The photos and description of Casa da Umbria were accurate but didn’t tell the whole truth. I can normally make it up the 13-15 stairs to reach a first floor walk-up especially if there’s a good handrail. I didn’t expect to have to climb steep cobblestone walkways followed by 34 steps without a handrail ending in a death-defying 90 degree spiral-type turn to get to the front door. Then there were all the other defects noted in my review. The hostess prepared a wonderful breakfast and helped us schedule a taxi and bus to our next destination but she became very defensive when I mentioned the stairs so I shut up and didn’t even try to suggest anything else. I can’t say anything for or against Odemira in general because I was essentially trapped in our room until we left.

An amazing place i went there at least 2x a year, and I love...

An amazing place i went there at least 2x a year, and I love the envoirment. At this time I went at Feira de Melides time, and it was a super traditional trip. I used to go to the farmers market as well to buy biological fruits an veggies to prepare my meals during the stay and sometimes to supply my home with natural products.

Visited for 3 days as part of a road trip through Alentejo into the Algarve. Lovely resort with river and sea beaches. Good selection of shops and restaurants. Visited out of season so very quiet apart from a volume of backpackers. Weather was perfect.
