GermanyVery warm & friendly welcome by our host family. They live just around the corner and are always easy to reach in case of questions. A nice place in the nature, just outside of Horta. The family has a big garden were they grow their own vegetables and fruit and keep their own chicken. Quiet place, shielded from the street and quiet even though it's close to the runway of the airport. But with so little air traffic it really does not matter. Nice to sit outside in the evening with a glass of wine. The apartment is big, clean, modern and furnished with taste, just renovated 1 year ago and in perfect condition.

It was like our home away. It is close to the airpot, about 15’ by uber to the center.
Cozy rooms, beautifully maintained garden and we love the pool. There are many corners you can sit down and relax.
The breakfast was also good with fresh fruits from its garden.
Special thanks to Francisco who was very communicative and immediate came to pick us up at the airport when we sent him the text that we could not find any taxi.
We planned to rent a car at the airport but no one available so we asked and Francisco agreed to take us around. The cost was reasonable, the trip was enjoyable and Francisco’s stories were very interesting.

This place is truly special and fully conveys the magic of Azorean tranquility, comfort, and harmony with nature. We spent a few days here in February during the worst weather, but we felt warm and cozy in our tent thanks to the lovely fireplace and electric heater.
The hosts, Pedro and Antónia, are incredibly warm, hardworking, and hospitable people. A wonderful breakfast made from local products is kindly left in a basket on your porch, allowing you to sleep in without worrying about missing it.
I could go on and on about this place, but the best way to experience it is to stay for at least three days. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing stay. Not only are the rooms super comfortable and clean, the view of the ocean is amazing, the breakfast is lovely and the hosts are super nice! They have farmland, where they grow organic products and also a huuge and beautiful garden, which is just out of this world. Even a tunnel, which ends by the shore. The landing strip of the airport is very close by but it is not loud at all, since the airport is not very busy. It's rather entertaining watching the planes.
Would visit Faial again just to spend more time at this place.

The location is great , close to the beach and nice cafes and restaurants in Porto Pim bay then 5 minutes to the marina and further restaurants in Horta. The sea at the beach is very shallow and you can walk far out. The apartment we stayed in was on ground floor with one room right on the road but it was not noisy. The air conditioning was effective. There is a coffee machine, microwave kettle hob and fridge. Comfortable beds. We were sorry we had no time to use the kayaks (free of charge and with life vests)

Nuno welcomed us very warmly, he showed us all the facilities in the house, and there was even a small welcome gift that made our early arrival better. The house is very well equipped, we even had barbecue and fireplace for us to use. We'll definitely come back to Casa do Capelo and we warmly recommend it to our friends.

If you are a horse lover like myself you will love this place to get away and enjoy its natural surroundings and enjoyment of having the peace and lodge surroundings.To beable to interact with friendly horses was amazing.I will defo be back 😊

Our room was great and was cleaned well every day and the staff was super friendly. Also the breakfast (for us a freshly squeezed orange juice, a coffee, a sandwich and one of the cakes/sweets) was very good. We felt very comfortable!🙂

Very spacious apartment with everything that you need for a comfortable stay.
The elevator was very useful when you have a lot of luggage.

The boulevard along the harbour offers beautiful views...
The boulevard along the harbour offers beautiful views towards Pico island. The town is rather small but offers all the basics. The people are are friendly. It's not so suitable for shopping and to really appreciate it you should walk around a lot and also explore the nature around the town. Public transport is available though rather limited.

My stay there was great, I especially appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the host. The place is perfect if you have to catch a morning flight since it is just opposite the airport, also bus station is just across the street. However, it is not very easily accessible from Horta if you don't have your car; the public transport by bus is limited on weekends, even during the week the bus rides only few times a day, Besides one restaurant 1km away, there are also no other places to eat nearby. But the nature around is amazing and place is very nice, the rooms very comfortable and clean and breakfast is good.

Horta is a fabulous town, friendly people, nice restaurants and pedarias and shops in and around the Main Street
Our favorite place to eat was a fab resteraunt overlooking the ocean Praia do a Almoxarife. Lovely harbor with interesting paintings from passing sailors.
Porto Pim Beach close by.
Probably best to get a hire car to see all the lovely spots around the island (quite expensive) although the local buses are pretty good too. Plenty of walking/hiking trails especially the walk around the rim of Caldeira e Capelinhos. Lots of amazing view points and botanical gardens

We loved Varadouro.
We loved Varadouro. We stayed for 2 nights but could have stayed longer to relax by the pools and swimming inlet. These swimming areas are located amongst the volcanic rock and are just amazing.
The area is very relaxing, the sea could be heard from our accommodation. We had a hire car, which is needed as the area is remote.
There are a few restaurants and cafes nearby.

We went on a full day tour of Faial with Andre at Visitfaial. This let us see all the sites. Faial is a beautiful island and I wish we had more time there. Horta is more of a town than a city, size wise. It has a big marina and this was buzzing with lots to look at including some big yachts. There are some busy bars and restaurants which are fun to visit although we preferred the quieter ones in Porto Pim Bay Area. Genuino has lots of memorabilia from the owner’s sailing adventures. The tuna steaks were massive. We had a table upstairs at window with lovely views across the bay. Taberna de Pim was also good and we were able to eat outside on the bay.
