NetherlandsSmack in the centre of the old town, you’ll find Pino Alpino. Super friendly and helpful staff serving, what could be, the best breakfast in Kranjska Gora. Al-a-carte choices of eggs, avocado toast, home made granola, fruit, barrister cappuccinos… it goes on, eat as much as you like (can). The rooms are basic and could do with a refresh but had everything you need, albeit no air-con, which was a shame.

the room was spacious, with a nice balcony and views, comfy beds, a desk which was useful since I had to work a little. It had a fridge, I asked for a kettle which was imediately provided and a TV which I didn't use. Very clean and comfortable in general!
Breakfast was very varied and abundant, the service all very friendly at reception, housekeeping, and breakfast. All smiling and ready to answer and help.
There's a gym, pool and sauna all well maintained and clean, the common areas are great to spend time reading or enjoying while talking with people you are with. There's a bar area too and some tables outside which I found nice to have some tea with views.

The location is amazing with breath-taking views of the Alps in the Vršič Pass. Lots of things to see nearby. The staff were very helpful and helped us with info regarding hikes, trails, hidden gems nearby, etc. The the rooms were very clean and cozy with nice views. Food was also really good. Would definitely like to return

Wonderful place in December when we visited.
Wonderful place in December when we visited. Walking around Lake Jasna was enjoyable, especially with the fire near the restaurant and Christmas decorations, The town is beautiful and was very active on a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed Pizza in the old part of town at a local restaurant.

The small village of Mojstrana is at the beginning of the climbing area for Triglav, and the place is amazing—calm and beautiful. Houses and backyards are so clean, and the stream in the center of village is so cute. If you like bike tour there is bike road toward Kranjska Gora.

Rateče is a small village in the northwest corner of Slovenia, literally a few hundred meters from the Italian border. The tourist resort of Kranjska Gora is located 6 km to the east, and the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana 20 km to the east. Very scenic Fusina lakes are 8 km to the west. The interesting little town of Tarvisio is also nearby in Italy. The area offers nice hiking and cycling possibilities, exploring the 19th and early 20th century military fortresses, and also exploring the interesting small baroque churches. Walks in the surroundings of Rateče are fantastically tranquil and relaxing. The area also offers some nice restaurants with traditional food, as well as very tasteful cheeses! Planica Nordic Centre is located 3 km to the south from Rateče. The Alpe Adria Cycling Path runs along the abandoned but very scenic old railway Tarvisio - Jesenice!

Very cozy and peaceful, a 3 minute drive from Kranjska Gora, convenient stays and lodges in the area, there are stunning landscapes surrounding this little village, just perfect. Waterfalls and forests are on walking distance.

Great place for a little escape to the mountains when I travelled in late summer for trail running. The town is full of nice little restaurants, many of them offering superb Slovenian food.
I recommend Pino Alpino for a drink and dinner at Restaurant Lipa.
If you have a day to spare a trip to Lake Bled is also well worth of your time, either to go swimming or to take a trip around the lake by boat.
I would recommend having a car as it can be tricky to get in and out of town without.
Will come back in winter to check out the slopes!

Great scenery and nature.
Great scenery and nature. Public transport could be improved. Had amazing pizza at a cozy little ski lodge/cottage next to the Bedanc ski resort in Podkoren, it's called "Bife Velika Dolina".

Good starting location for trips to Austria, Italy or Slovenian mountains. We visited fortresses from the First World War period, lakes, Soča river, mountains, mountain passes and a Russian wooden church. We will come back for sure for hiking.

What a lovely place to stay. Easy access to cycle paths to Kranjska Gora. Easy access by car to Triglav routes. Comfy, with a good mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. Make sure to check out Gostlina Ema near lake Bohinj for incredible food in a stunning location.

Kranjska Gora is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts such as trail runners like us. We visited to run the UTMB Julian Alps in September so the atmosphere was buzzing. Weather was amazing, we definitely got lucky as a storm rolled in the day we left. A few nice restaurants, pubs and cafes, all of which really good value.
