Everything! The bungalow was nice and clean, the whole venue and it’s facilities were great. A nice sized gym and also a pool to take a dip in. The customer service was excellent (especially thanks to Joe) and every meal we ate there was very delicious. All in all I would stay there again many times over if I return to Dakar.

We had an amazing stay, the staff is superfriendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a central but quiet and safe area with security guard 24/7. The hotel is well maintained and well decorated, the Cactus rooftop was a little gem and the food was great. The hotel offered european and local food and beverages. The staff was able to serve us in french, e gkish and wolof and always with the smile.

Everything about the apartment was very good.

Everything about the apartment was very good. The bedroom, washroom, rest room and so on. The most important place for me is the bedroom and the kitchen the receptionist and cleaning was so nice to us and very honest. There was a nice kitchen that we do high water to make our breakfast. Everything was fine. It was easy to locate the flowers looks different from other.

We initially didn't consider spending the night in Goree but...

We initially didn't consider spending the night in Goree but were convinced by people in Dakar and so happy with our choice. It's great to see how the atmosphere on the island changes once all toruists are gone. We had a great meal by the seaside (excellent fresh seafood) and enjoyed the calm and tranquillity of the island. Wouldn't stay for longer than one night, but recommend the expereince to anyone coming to visit.

Location was good.

Location was good. Aircon only in bedrooms, too hot when you get to the Residence. Rooms are nice and cool. Linen needs major upgrade. Bathrooms need mats and towels and they need basic cleaning to make sure they're hygenic. If you're on a shoe string budget and don't mind aesthetics then the residence can work, for me anything over 1 night would have been an overkill. Staff not too good with English, make sure you have basic French to communicate.

I have travelled a lot to many countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, etc. Dakar/Senegal is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the ambiance of the people. It's Africa not Europe, so if you love culture, people and good food Dakar is a good choice in West Africa.

Goree Island is a trip most people make for just a day from Dakar. However 1 or 2 nights is even more special. The journey takes 20 minutes on the ferry and is an easy journey. Remember your passport to get on the ferry. The island is tiny, in 30 minutes you can walk all of it. It’s very picturesque. The main place to visit it tinged with terrible historical sadness. The House of Slaves (Maison des Esclaves) tells the history of millions of slaves who were kidnapped from West Africa for the Americas. There’s little else to see, but many artists, little shops and goats and cats everywhere. It’s a place to relax and switch off.

Dakar is a very beautiful city surrounded by the ocean.

Dakar is a very beautiful city surrounded by the ocean. There are so many places to visit; the islands, the monument, the beaches, the fast foods, etc. As a solo traveler, I was scared at first of the risk I took to visit these places alone, but I quickly realized how friendly the people of Dakar are. There are also many foreigners there and that was a relief.

Small island with lots of history, old and well kept houses and a small community that probably completely depends on tourism. Wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle from Dakar. Food is local and mainly at the beach and closes early. Try other guesthouses such as adame on the other side of the island, which has sea view, airco and is treat for families and bigger groups.getting around by walking is easy and nice to explore the island. Either way. The only other vehicle is donkeys (mainly used for heavy loads and garbage). One night is perfect. Two nights is very relaxing. 3 is a bit much.
