I cannot add anything more positive to say about Dar El Medina that hasn't already been said. But I think special recognition should be given to all the staff I encountered who were friendly, professional and more than willing to give that extra something. This especially applies to Nede, who first checked me in and provided the historical perspective of the building. Also, the chef, Slah, not only cooked me an excellent dinner of fish couscous but talking with him in English was both enlightening and a pleasure. Finally, I wish to give extra mention to the awesome breakfast that was provided by a smiling Safa every morning. Not only was the breakfast delicious but also extremely filling. I would surely return to Dar El Medina given a chance.

Brilliant a bit out of the village if Sidi Bou Said gem to spend some days. I stayed in Tunisian room on the ground floor with immediate way to the pool. The room was great in all respect - clean, well groomed & nicely designed, all necessary facilities, a bottle of water daily and on top of that free Netflix access to watch whatever you want. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my family in late October 2024 for vacation. Two rooms, in total 4 people. EVERYTHING was excellent. I do not understand the few people that have put negative comments about this hotel. I did not find anything negative: o Location: EXCELLENT. Just in front of a main bulevard, similar to the "Champs-Élysées" in Paris. Very close to Medina, just 20 min on foot. Taxis were near by, though I was using the Bolt taxi application, which is popular in Tunis, instead of hailing a taxi. o Staff: VERY HELPFUL, polite, speaking French and English fluently. If you want to organise a private tour for your family, or something similar, ask for Fedi, an fluent English speaking person, warm, eager to help and provide ideas. The rest of the staff was also good. I asked for a bottle of water while I was having breakfast and they brought water and glasses for my whole family at the table. o Breakfast: Very good, big choice to choose from. I especially liked the omelletes cooked in front of you and the pancakes. I have been in many cities around the world and this was a very good breakfast. Even my wife and children liked it very much and they are "picky". o Rooms: Quite large, clean, with good A/C. Minor: Rooms could have an espresso machine and maybe a fresh bottle of water every day. Second minor note: More toilet paper to be found in the room, just in case. o WiFi: Of course there was WiFi, free, maybe not too fast, but ok for general use. As said, a memorable stay. I DEFINITELY propose this hotel.

The Medina and Souks are an excellent attraction. Avenue Habib Bourguiba is an interesting stroll down the pedestrian centre to the clock tower. Bardo Museum is well worth visiting. As are Carthage and Sidi Bou Said outside of Tunis.

For those seeking more options, nearby La Marsa has almost everything you could need, including a small mall just a short taxi ride away—less than 15 minutes. This is an exquisitely decorated, beautful place to stay. The room was very comfortable and the staff exceptionally helpful. It is in a quiet area away from the old city which is always incredibly busy and noisy. The pool was beautuful as was the garden. There are nice places to eat nearby and historic places to visit.

Sidi Bou Saïd is a magical place full of charm and light. 🌿 The white and blue streets perched above the sea offer breathtaking views. Everything is within walking distance — you can easily explore the whole village on foot, and even reach the ancient ruins of Carthage, just 2 km away. For food lovers, I highly recommend Dar Zarrouk and Le Bon Vieux Temps — two of the best restaurants in Tunisia, both offering delicious dishes and stunning sea views. 💙

Nice area.

Nice area. A lot of the shops and stuff are relatively spread out. Really nice people who genuinely help you. Taxis are a bit of a pain from the airport, as they were a little expensive to what I would have thought. However you have to bargain with them a bit.

Bed is comfortable, strong WIFI, hot water is adequate for shower, room temp is perfect for sleeping, generous breakfast and hospitality of Hakim is very much appreciated. Beyond customer satisfaction. Thank you. We really enjoyed our stay.The location is in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Perfect for a solo traveller. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The location of Dar Salah Bey is very good and has access to everything nearby, the house is cosy, loved the architecture and design, but the owner of the property is required to improve the facilities and kitchen equipment, like good knives for cooking, a new set of forks, spoons, and cooking tools, also provide a good iron and iron board, fix the leakage of a tap connected to the washing machine, provide new and fresh bed covers and sheets, and also provide clothes drying rack, as we struggled to dry our clothes.

I spent 16 days in Tunisia, of which, 14 days with a tour group visiting the entire country. In Tunis I loved Carthage, I enjoyed visiting the Bardo National Museum, the Phoenician, Punic and Roman excavation sites.

Four Seasons is a lovely place to relax with the family.

Four Seasons is a lovely place to relax with the family. I suggest a 5 day visit so one can then plan day trips to Hammamet and Djerba as well. one could also spend 3 days at four seasons hotel and then 2 nights in Hammamet if you really want to enjoy a beach.

La marsa beach was right outside our guest house.

La marsa beach was right outside our guest house. We could walk to the main part of the beach and the shops and restaurants. We were out of season, visiting during Ramadan so it was relatively quiet. Some restaurants were not open at all, some only during the day, others only at night. We managed to find somewhere to eat every day. I can recommend the Cliff restaurant, Pasta mi Basta (very accommodating with our friend who had various intolerances), Kenko food bar and Blu Blu (Sidi Bou). There was a supermarket which catered for our needs. We also visited the capital Tunis and Sidi Bou Said which had lovely shops and stunning views.
