A lovely place, welcoming host. You leave your shoes at the entrance, slippers are available. The room with terrace and outdoor bath is wonderful. We loved the breakfast and the good coffee. Wash machine and dryer service. Bonus: the English day tour trip with Jason Lee in the Taroko gorges, a very great experience.

I don’t think there are enough words to describe our experience at George Coffee Homestay. It’s a beautiful location in the heart of Taroko, perfect if you want to go visit the national park. The hosts are just the most welcoming and warmest people I’ve ever met. They make you feel like home right away and truly go the extra mile to make sure you having a great time by recommending places to eat, trails, and things to visit. They were so kind and though this was not part of their responsibility, they’ve taken time to introduce us to the town, culture of Taroko people, history, traditions and a little bit of their beautiful and unique family story. We finished the night by making our own lucky bracelets which I personally loved and the highlight of the night was them playing a song that Boya wrote to Lisa about their love story. The room is super nice and big, cozy and very clean. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the best part if of course drinking their own coffee. If you’re looking for a place in Taroko, you don’t want to miss out on George Homestay! :)

The location is stunning, the room was very comfortable and staff very helpful. The food (buffet dinner) was great. And the activities are a bonus- we tried yoga, and enjoyed an unforgettable visit to the Xibao Forest School. Staying at this special hotel was a delight. The recent typhoon and 2004 earthquake has closed many walking trails, but there’s still plenty to learn and experience here.

The host is such an amazing person. Very kind and ready to help you in any situation. We've managed to discuss a bit through Google traduction as we are not speaking Chinese and he couldn't speak English. The house is very well located between Hualien and Taroko. The house is surrounded by the nature. The room was spacious and confortables. We highly recommend this place! Thanks again.

We loved our short stay at Joy Garden. The surroundings were so lush and fresh. Beautiful views of Haulien right outside our window. Everything was sparkling clean. I preferred this delightful home stay with freshly made breakfast compared to hotels we’ve stayed in. We unfortunately don’t speak Chinese but we had no trouble to communicate with the Google translate app. It’s worth the effort and we appreciated their patience. We didn’t have plans for dinner, and they made a reservation at the nearby farm-to-table Aboriginal restaurant. We were very lucky! It was delicious. Definitely ask about that ahead of time. Their dear daughter also helped us so much. We didn’t realise there was a risk of not getting a ticket to Taipei on a Sunday. She ordered a ticket for us and even went to the station to pick it up! It’s probably ideal if you have a car. We did take a taxi from town twice, depending on location it was $250-300. Not expensive to get here. But actually they drove us to the station both times we needed to go. Also, if you arrange ahead of time, their son has a taxi! They went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely visit. I wish we had planned more time just to explore the local area. There’s an aboriginal culture centre on the same road. The hosts were so generous and accommodating! I highly recommend venturing a little off the path so you can enjoy this restful retreat.

The owners of Ubus B&B 箼篰斯民宿 are some of the nicest people I have met in Taiwan and I already lived here for little over a year. She and her friend are local Taroko natives. The second that we entered her B&B she gave us drip coffee and steamed bamboo with rice. I took my partner and my mom here, they both loved how comfortable the place is. We booked the two double bed (around 4545 NTD, a little over 130), but it included breakfast and snacks. Not only that, but she took both my partner and I to Taroko Shakandang Trail, picked us up on the way back, waited for us to get food at 7/11, AND the following day took us to the train station out of pure kindness. Since we had to leave early we did not have breakfast, so she gave us a bit of money back covering the breakfast! Its been a long time since I met someone with that amount of kindness. The day that we left, my partner forgot her apple watch, and the NEXT DAY she sent via mail to our place. She never asked for money in return and we are grateful. Definitely coming back some time in the future. The facility is clean, the shower is big and comfortable, the kitchen has all types of utilities (air fryer, microwave, coffee makers, wifi, etc). I highly recommend this place since its not only accommodating, but right NEXT to Taroko National Park. Amazing experience.
