This resort sits in one of the most breathtaking and tranquil corners of Nungwi a place that feels made for a honeymoon. Honestly, you won’t find a better beach anywhere in Zanzibar. We explored Paje, Mtende, Kizimkazi, Kendwa and even the famous Nakupenda sandbank, and while each had its charm, nothing compared to the beauty right outside our resort. Our stretch of beach felt like our own private paradise, complete with its own natural sandbank and not a single crowd in sight. It was perfect. The staff and Maasai security around the hotel make the difference in your stay. This is a place we want our family and friends to experience over and over again. Our hearts are so full from the amazing experience we got to have for the 8 nights we stayed here. We are just simply blown away. Having travelled all over the world, this place now sits at the top of our best holiday experiences. Asante sana! tuonane hivi karibuni! We have managed to come away with some amazing moments and memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. The place is stunning, with the sunrise in the morning making you think, “Why can’t I have this all the time?” That thought just carries on throughout the day whilst having your breakfast as you look across the sea, quietly smiling inside about the experience and feeling. This continues in the afternoon when low tide arrives and the water recedes far from the shore, exposing the seabed and starfish. Our time here was not only enhanced by this experience, it was amplified by the quality of the people we met, and the joy they infused into our days. They were just wonderful. So to: Alice, Canny, Antony, Sulemani, Mina, Godfrey, Sagida, Rahema, Chen, Bashari,Ikram, Fatma, Esther! Thank you. Lastly, to Dheerendra, it was equally a joy to meet you. You have done an amazing job assembling a magnificent team of people, and we look forward to seeing you all again.

This was our favorite hotel during our trip to Zanzibar (we stayed in four different places around the island). The resort is set right on the sand, with comfortable rooms equipped with a small fridge. The pool is lovely, and the staff are kind and attentive. We loved the peaceful beach, perfect for walks at low tide and the unforgettable sunsets every evening. In the evenings, we also enjoyed the warm atmosphere of the neighboring bar with its cozy fire and vibe. Excellent value for money overall! Absolutely recommend!

The entire property is really well laid out, with trees around the pool that give it a really warm and intimate feeling but also provide much-needed shade if you burn easily like I do. The food area and swing seats are inviting and relaxing, so it's a real oasis. The rooms are light and comfortable with good air conditioning. They are also remarkably sound proof, with some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in in Tanzania. The owners and staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, and I love the resident kittens they have taken in. The food was good and breakfast was filling and tasty. It's well located in that the beach and shops are in very easy walking distance, but it isn't impacted by the hustle and bustle or the noise that is common in other venues. A really delightful find, we will certainly be back!

Exquisite Review of Sea Cliff Hotel, Resort & Villas – A Truly Unforgettable Experience From the moment I arrived at Sea Cliff Hotel, Resort & Villas, I was captivated by its breathtaking beauty and serene ambiance. Nestled in a stunning coastal location, this resort effortlessly blends luxury, comfort, and natural charm, making it the perfect escape. The dining experience was exceptional. The restaurants offered a wide and delicious variety of dishes, both local and international, prepared with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Every evening, there was a different live performance during dinner, adding culture and entertainment to the experience. One of the most unforgettable moments was when the hotel surprised my wife on her birthday without us even informing them. They sent a lovely gift to our room, and during dinner they arranged a celebration with traditional dance, local music, and a complimentary birthday cake. This level of attention and care was truly heartwarming. Comfort is taken seriously here. Each night, the staff would carefully set up a mosquito net around the bed to ensure a peaceful, mosquito-free sleep. Small but thoughtful touches like this made a big difference in our stay. The rooms, gardens, and pool areas were all exceptionally clean and well maintained. Everything reflected a high standard of care and quality. And the staff? Simply amazing. Kind, professional, always smiling, and ready to help with anything. Sea Cliff Hotel, Resort & Villas went above and beyond in every way. This is more than just a place to stay, it’s a beautiful memory. I will absolutely recommend it to my friends and family in Saudi Arabia, and I look forward to returning one day. Special thank you to Mr. Jabili at the desk and all the staff. We arrived around 9am, the staff welcomed us for a drink, we were able to have breakfast instead of the last day (breakfast was included in our room) which was highly appreciated after a long trip. We were able to check in early and the room was just beyond our imagination: it was perfect overlooking the ocean. It was perfect for the sunsets too. Additionally, the staff welcomed us also with a bottle of prosecco which tasted great. During the stay, staff were very nice. We also took a spa and at times it felt as there were 4 hands working on my back. She was good. Swimming pool, direct access to the beach was wonderful. It is not noisy, yet you have everything at walking distance.. Simply the best hotel on the beach in zanzibar.

The property is sprawling with a gorgeous beach and plenty of lush gardens. We booked a junior suite which was really spacious with the most enormous comfortable bed. We had a few issues but they were quickly resolved and we had amazing meals at the a la carte restaurants. I have to mention ‘Wok’ which was faultless and I would go back just to dine there. We also had a romantic beach dinner which was lovely. The water-sports centre is well equipped and we learnt to paddle board, we played lots of pool and we also played tennis every day. The court does need resurfacing but it is fine for a knock about. We would definitely go back there.

The beach is beautiful and the water very warm.

The beach is beautiful and the water very warm. Because of the strong tides there's only water in the morning and the afternoon but it makes the beach very interesting and beautiful and gives the oportunity to walk far out and find seashells and starfish. The only downside to the beach is the many very insisting sellers who make it impossible to go for a walk without being approached.

A peaceful and welcoming town with a strong sense of community and a safe, relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in a peaceful part of town, where there were noticeably fewer street vendors selling beads and souvenirs compared to other areas. This made the atmosphere even more calm and relaxing, allowing us to fully enjoy the local charm without feeling overwhelmed.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from...

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from Forodhani, and the journey can feel quite long—particularly if you have just arrived in Zanzibar. The drive is somewhat uncomfortable due to the condition of the road, which consists largely of worn, uneven tarmac. Additionally, the area lacks local street food options, leaving nearby hotels—most of which are high-end and expensive—as the primary dining choices. As someone who genuinely enjoys the rich and flavorful cuisine of Stone Town, I found the food in the area to be rather bland and not reflective of its price point.
