We had no idea what to expect but we loved what we found! Wow. These are fantastic houseboats in the most stunning location and they are spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped and judging by other reviews, the owner listens to feedback! (We noticed that there had been some screening between boats added for extra privacy). We stayed in late November, it was unusually chilly for the time of year, but found the accommodation to be more than comfortable despite the cooler climates. During the summer, the boats have two very good size AC units which I am sure would be very welcome. The kitchen was well stocked with amenities and a full size fridge which we made use of for a few soft drinks, milk etc for morning coffee. We had no issues with smell from the on board toilet at all and both of us used the shower - we were told about the additional bathrooms on site when we checked in but for as a couple, we certainly didn’t need to use them. Also really appreciated having a dedicated car parking space per boat. Overall a really excellent experience and nice environment, would 100% come back here.

Unfortunately we stayed there only for one night but when we plan next visit for the Key West then we will defintely stay in the hotel for longer. I recommend this place to everyone. The location was perfect, peaceful and surrounded by great amenities for the kids to enjoy. When we accidentally left behind my daughter’s bunny, the host contacted us immediately and even offered to meet us halfway, as we were already in Miami. Such kindness! Location was fantastic! We loved sitting on the deck and watching the water and boats passing by. We appreciated that we were both right at the hub of Key West, and that Pier House felt cozy and separate from the hubbub. The resort was gorgeous--the landscaping was lush and beautiful. We loved having private beach access, beach loungers, the warm pool, the fitness center, the hot tub. Our room was spacious, and we appreciated all the dresser drawers and counter space for our belongings. We had a delicious breakfast at One Duval. We liked the live music. Everyone who works there was friendly and helpful. We appreciated being able to check in early and check out late.

This resort has everything you might want in order to relax and enjoy your surroundings. The unit itself was decorated nicely, the linens were of high quality, the staff is expertly trained and skilled to give you quality attention without being intrusive. We hired the sunset sail. Key West has lost any of thd old appeal.

Key West has lost any of thd old appeal. Food and drinks are unacceptable for whoever is looking for a quality time, with memory of the history and the magic of the sunsets. The type of offer is for one-day shot and cruise tourism. Low level restaurants ( but expensive), drinks, men’s clubs, drag queens, pathetic music… nothing remains of the past Magic.

Quiet, serene town but had the trappings that we wanted. The restaurant venues were good and not overpriced. The conveniences of a CVS/ Walgreens was present. I love Starbucks and there was one less than 10 minutes away. The local bar/restaurant was within walking distance on the same street. It was fine. All was fine. Just 95 degree balmy tepid temperatures are difficult, but that’s the Keys in the summertime

Tavernier is between Key Largo & Islamorada, so it is in a great location. It's an easy drive from Miami airport (just over one hour). It is about a 1 hr. 45 min. drive to Key West, which makes a great day trip (we did it twice during our eight-day stay. Our favorite dining spots are Capt. Craig's (superb chef-prepared meals), The Fish House (a Key Largo institution), and High Tide (best breakfast). For groceries there is Winn Dixie a few minutes from the apartment and Publix in Key Largo (we prefer Publix for better produce and selection). For activities, there's a small beach at Ocean Pointe which was nice, not too crowded, and relaxing. There is John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo, only a few minutes away, with lots of activities like snorkeling, canoeing, paddle boarding, and glass bottom boat rides. We always take a half day of fishing with Capt. Jordan or Capt. Matt (Key Largo Fishing Adventures) and if you like to sky dive, go to Key West for a day and jump with one of the great instructors there. It's worth it! Getting around in the Keys is super easy - one road in (Overseas Hwy.) and marked by MM (mile markers) so everything is straight forward.

The bungalows are fairly new, but are not well kept you can wipe the floor with a white washcloth damp in it and it’ll be completely dirty with just one wipe in the drawers. There were hair. The bed had a stain on the bed liner after removing the sheets and putting them in the shower for the maid to wash, they never washed that bedliner. It was completely discussed. It probably would’ve left if I didn’t known it was there. There were problems with the room as far as a globe on a light in the bathroom was broken. The room could’ve use a good cleaning, but as I said, it’s fairly new just not well. Maintained probably won’t look nice for long.

Big Pine key is the equivalent of a locals restaurant. Not too flashy, not too expensive. 1/2 a dozen places to eat. A full size grocery store. All of 25 miles from Key west. Great fishing. Plenty of key deer. Just a nice laid back spot in the lower keys.

The location was good for getting to Key West, only 20 mins away. there is a good size fridge in the room. the view is nice, but can't enjoy it outside because of the bugs. The Tiki bar is still closed. There's no coffee machine in the room, which really is inexcusable for me. To pay $800+ for 3 nights and have to go outside to the tiki bar to get coffee, no thanks! You need to bring your own hair conditioner, and body lotion. Bottom line, I would not recommend . I didn't eat in the restaurant there, but their menu is high priced. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was grungy looking.

Heaven!

Heaven! Easily walkable but you can rent bikes and golf carts and the Duval Loop is $1.00. Good food, good music, clean. Still has some of the Live and let Live vibes. Not for everyone but it sure is for me :) Sunsets, of course. Sunset Pier bar has great music. Visit the Green Parrot on Whitehead for Bingo on Mondays to raise money for island non-profits. Visit the Key West First Legal Rum Distillery on Simonton for the best Key Lime Colada and tour. Blue Heaven for Brunch. So much to do! Visit the AIDS Memorial to be humbled. KW Garden Club is nearby too repurposed old fort.
