FAQs about hotels in Manhattan

Wake Up in the City That Never Sleeps

Nothing prepares you for your first glimpse of Manhattan. This legendary island is everything you’ve seen and read. And more.

Its most famous skyscraper is the Empire State Building, though some argue that views from the Top of the Rock in the Rockerfeller Centre are even better as they actually feature NYC’s most iconic building. Equally unmistakable is the Chrysler Building, overlooking Grand Central Station whose interior is pristine.

Wandering Times Square it’s easy to see why this city never sleeps. Broadway, with its theatres, runs through it and continues to Central Park, a haven of greenery. At its midway point is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and MoMA is another museum nearby.

Other midtown Manhattan attractions include Radio City Music Hall and St Patrick’s Cathedral, while further south are the intriguing districts of Greenwich Village, Little Italy and Chinatown. Streets in between house the bastions of New York shopping – Macy’s, Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue.

However, the real business goes down at Manhattan’s southernmost tip, where Wall Street houses the New York Stock Exchange. North-west is the Ground Zero Memorial, while from southern Battery Park ferries depart to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

Space is at a premium in NYC so there aren’t many Manhattan hotels with free parking. However, Booking.com does offer great Manhattan hotel deals, including cheaper options.

The hotel was in a perfect location—well-maintained, clean, and peaceful. On the second day of my trip, which happened to be my birthday, I was pleasantly surprised to find a thoughtful gift in my room—a beautifully branded chocolate and a heartfelt greeting card. This small but meaningful gesture truly made my day! Additionally, the hotel served as the venue for our conference, and the conference halls were perfectly equipped to meet all our needs. Everything was well-organized, and the event ran flawlessly. A big thank you to the hotel management for their kindness, attention to detail, and excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel—they genuinely prioritize their guests' comfort and experience!

The staff was very friendly and answered my every question. The check in and check out was very fast and easy. Everything was very clean. The rooms are small but when you travel to visit the city you don’t need much at the hotel. They have a lovely bar and restaurant at the lobby floor. Overall it’s a great place! The neighborhood is quiet nice, especially the ninth avenue, there are a lot of food places to find and the shops are not too for away. The best neighborhoods are in the walking distance.

Loved the decor, the thought and imagination that went into it all and loved the price because I did a lot of searching for hotel rooms in NYC and this was incredible value compared to most others. The room was lovely, the little balcony was great, coffee machine much appreciated and the actual telephone beside your actual bed which was actually answered when I used it to call reception - sadly you're normally directed to an app. So decor, quirkiness, comfort, human contact, all good.

We had 3 meals on the property and all of them were fabulous. Lunch at the standard grill (best French toast i’ve ever had) room service for dinner (burgers, fries, Caesar salad) 10/10. Then room service breakfast the next morning (pancakes and eggs Benedict. SO GOOD) We were celebrating our anniversary and we were met with Prosecco and a sweet card from the staff upon arrival. It was a perfect, relaxing, luxurious experience pigging out and watching movies with a gorgeous city view.

My first time on my own in New York.

My first time on my own in New York. A little daunting but exciting too. From the moment I arrived I loved it. The impossible traffic, horns blaring even though there is no way any one can move, Vehicles huge and small at all angles on intersections, Somehow it sorts itself. Taxis arrive and drop me off on time. Pre booked, organised tours and the Hop on/off bus helped me see so much! I loved the bagels, street corner pizza and the excellent strong coffee. Last minute tickets enabled me to see two Broadway shows. Times Square at night lived up to its reputation for brilliant lights and excitement. The National Museum of Natural History, magnificent 9 11 Memorial, Greenwich Village small restaurants, Central Park .... so many wonderful places to visit. I too love New York!

It was great to experience New York from Brooklyn.

It was great to experience New York from Brooklyn. There were so many cool cafes, bakeries (Radio Bakery, Bakeri) and restaurants. It seems to be a very happening place now and has some great places to explore along the waterfront as well as in their parklands. (Prospect Park was an awesome place to do a bike ride around - on the easy to use electric bikes.) The bridge walks over to Manhattan are a big hit and give a fantastic view and perspective of New York and it's surrounds.

From the periodic information passengers were able to get my United flight to Portland Maine was repeatedly delayed and then cancelled because the plane would not be able to land once it arrived. Apparently the problems on 4 September were building up throughout the day. Before the flight from LA landed my daughter in Sydney, Australia messaged me to tell there were ”shenanigans” at Newark.

We were traveling from central PA to visit the Statue of Liberty and didn't want to make the trip in one day, so we decided to get lodging the night prior to our day trip. We debated on whether to stay in New Jersey or New York. We searched for rooms and this motel in Jersey City seemed like a good choice. It was perfect. We walked to a coffee shop in Jersey City and felt quite safe. We passed many solo joggers, mothers with small children and bicyclists. The part of the city we were in was very clean. We were pleasantly surprised.

After landing at Liberty, we rented a car for our tours of NYC. Finding and paying for parking in NYC was a difficulty I could live without. Fortunately, most tolls were paid with the car rental agreement. The Secaucus location was perfect for driving, but the buses stop right outside the hotel. If it were available to guests, more information on bus routes to the City's main attractions, as well as details on paying for bus and subway toll passes and wheelchair accessibility, would be helpful and might change how a traveler chooses to get around.

Great location and a reasonably comfortable bed, with basic coffee/shower amenities—that’s where the positives end. Housekeeping was disorganized (no English, gave me a duvet insert with no cover and never delivered it over three days; didn’t make the bed, didn’t restock coffee pods, no trash liners). Free Wi-Fi was ~10 Mbps and too slow for most apps. Not recommended.
