All comforts imaginable, big comfortable beds and rooms, self service laundry, a huge help on a weeks’ long trip, outdoor pool and a jacuzzi, beautiful outdoor space for the kids and adults alike with lots of toys provided. Evenings around the fire pit making s’mores, an amazing experience for our kids coming from Europe, having never done it before of course. A nice breakfast too. Complimentary treats all day long, snacks and lemonade in the lobby. Above all, the care we received from the staff, unbelievably nice and helpful all of them. We stayed in multiple hotels during our stay in the US and I cannot understand how Acadia Inn only earned its three stars! Our stay at the Inn was a straight five star experience!

CanadaWe stayed the second night after they had opened, and the afternoon tea and treats were among the highlights of our family trip. The kids enjoyed them and we were able to chat about our hikes and plan the next day together.
The rooms were also very clean with lots of towels. Most staff seemed very helpful. Found the beds nice and firm and lots of pillows. Could use another blanket in the closet, though.
Lots of parking and it was free. Underground parking was included, as was breakfast. Delicious breakfast made by their chef and you can order your dish freshly made. Lovely!

The Inn has new owners who are making great strides to improve on an hourly basis. Very pleasant owners and staff. 3PM fresh cookies, fresh coffee and tea all day. Great 8am -9:30am breakfast served with 2 choices of meals.
Our room was very elegant and spacious, prepared for royalty.
Most of the Inn and suites are furnished with refinished or perfect artifacts of the past, Very well planed down to the simplest thing as placement of fruit in a basket to fresh flowers in vases in the common areas.!!
10 minute walking distance to the whale cruise departures.
5 minute walking distance to main street shops.
Private and secluded.
This is a hidden treasure in Bar Harbor.

Our suite in one of the separate houses in the back was spacious and comfortable. Easy parking, good location, quiet at night but walkable to the rest of the town. We loved being able to grab a coffee (and cookie ;-) or lemonade at the reception area, as well as a small take-out breakfast before hitting the road; small extras that make a difference.

Really superb motel in the center of Bar Harbor. The room was big and clean, comfortable bed. Breakfast- for us and our preferences, actually one of the best on our roadtrip. Great to have access to microwave and coffee. Location-perfect for whatever your plans are in Acadia

Beautiful old building that was converted sympathetically from a church. Friendly and helpful staff. Bedrooms very pretty, comfortable and spotlessly clean. An absolutely delicious breakfast as well.

Bar Harbor is a charming and picturesque town with plenty to enjoy when everything is open. However, if you’re visiting during the off-season, be sure to have a backup plan—many restaurants and shops are closed during this time. Unfortunately, most restaurant websites aren’t updated to reflect seasonal closures, so you may need to walk around and check in person, then pivot to another option if your first choice is closed.

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.

Bar Harbor is beautfully located by the bay. It is set for tourism with numerous stores and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed eating at The Thirst Whale (the clam chowder was one of the best) and Geddy's.

Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.
Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.

It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.

The 2.5 hour guided bus tour of Acadia was very good (except for the young children that were on our tour). If you have a car, take a ride around the entire island Bar Harbor is located on. We spent 4 hours and drove 65 miles around the periphery of the island; the views were fantastic.

We wished we could have stayed longer as we liked the place.
Next time we will try to come back during the high season as the area was getting ready for the spring and therefore not all shops yet re-open.
But more important for our trip (Eastern 2024) it was not far from the Acadia park.
