Great location! Waikik is one of the best parts of Honolulu, there are plenty of shops, big brands and restaurants in an easy reach. Also, the famous Waikiki beach is about 5 minutes by walk. The facilities are awesome! We didn't get to the pools, but we loved the washing room, it came very handy that we could clean our dirty clothes in the middle of a long trip (for free). The room was one of the best ones, if not the best one, we ever had! Everything seemed to be brand new, the furniture has great quality. We loved that the doors of each rooms are opening in each others - so, you can walk around from the living room through the bedroom and bahtroom, then get back to the living room (though not having a door on the toilet is an interesting choice). The kitchen was fully equipped, we loved the USB plugs at the bedsides and to have both a bath tube and a shower cabin.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are super friendly and our room was ready way before the official check in time, which was a lifesaver after an overnight flight. The location of the hotel is very central, yet in a quiet area, close to the park and walking distance from the beach. The bed in our room was amazing and so comfortable. The pressure of the shower was absolutely brilliant. The day before our departure, the hotel invited us to a small social on the 18th floor with drinks and snacks provided. Finally, when we checked out and left our luggage, the staff offered us access to the pool and sauna facilities throughout the day. Excellent hotel and service!!! Thank you

We had an excellent week long stay at Hotel Renew. We had a party of 4, and were in 2 rooms with partial sea view and balconies. For the location right next to Waikiki beach, this hotel is a gem. The staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming. They were great at providing us with what we needed for the day such as beach chairs, towels, extra coffee, travel advice and bus schedules. The lobby is well decorated and feels very relaxing as soon as you walk in. The rooms may feel a bit on the small side to some, but you are paying for location. They are clean and modern, with a great shower and bathroom. Lots of places to unpack and hide suitcases away. We got ourselves organized on day one to clear the floor and put clothes away into the warddrobe and it felt great, once tidy, for the rest of the stay. Beautiful views of the sunset dropping over the ocean horizon from the balconies that face north. I would definitely recommend staying here, and we will stay here again for our next visit to Honolulu.

The room was enormous, with 270 degree views over the water round to diamond head. We could easily walk to restaurants, shops, the beach, and tour pick-up spots. Kitchen had everything we needed, bed was very comfortable, and we spent many pleasant evenings on the balcony watching the sun set over the water. Extra special find was the coffee shop on the ground floor, their flat whites were superb!

Best little hotel in Waikiki! Amazing staff, excellent layout and welcoming atmosphere. The bartender Mason is simply a legend. The property itself is very run down and old needing a lot of love. The construction that was going on was not an issue. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The ac they speak of is a window unit which no where near reaches past the living room/kitchen and bed. The kitchen was not complete with decent cooking pans. I certainly would not stay here again. The only nice thing about this condo was the beach access.

Location was exactly what we were looking for away from the chaos of Honolulu. Paradise Bay Resort is a great place to stay, Whiskey Smoke 808 Bar-b-Q is a good value, and Haleiwa Joe's Haiku Gardens is good but pricey. Enough stores and other options to have snacks for the room. Enough beach choices and other activities within a short drive.

There is a great Foodland about 10–15 minutes north along Kamehameha Highway. We cooked all of our meals at the house until the last day, so we don’t have restaurant recommendations for the immediate area. There are, however, several excellent local coffee shops within a 5-minute drive (we can’t recall the names, but they’re easy to find). We enjoyed visiting Waimea Bay on the North Shore, about a 45-minute drive north. While we didn’t stop this time, there are also a number of fun food trucks in the area that are worth exploring. Just across the highway is Waimea Valley, home to Waimea Falls. You can even swim at the waterfall; life jackets and water shoes are required.

Beautiful beach, that was the best part.

Beautiful beach, that was the best part. The prices in Hawaii are ridiculous. Very high. The are grocery stores that you can buy your own food and cook if you have a kitchen. Nice people. My fav was the taco truck that had such good fresh healthy food. I would eat there everyday. He was on Kihapai st and oneawa st , late in the evening. Best recommendation. Its mostly safe, some homeless here and there not much in the residential areas. Few bars from high end, to crossroads to Kailua tavern that has the best karaoke bartender you have ever heard. He sings and makes your drinks. Food is ok, if you are a foodies it's hit and miss.. in the restaurants.. Super fun, you can get amazing surfing cheap lessons with Mike and Andy at 808 Surt School by Kamehameha Hwy opposite of the shrimp shack. Lot of great experiences, so much beautiful sun. Beautiful place. We'll be back.

Waikiki was loud and a bit overcrowded.

Waikiki was loud and a bit overcrowded. Mind you, this was between Christmas and New Years’ Eve. I wouldn’t visit again when it is this busy. Also, Honolulu just isn’t that nice. Even the Waikiki area, which has all the expensive shops and feels like it’s trying to be the Rodeo Drive of Honolulu isn’t that special. There are some nice pockets here and there, and a couple nice resorts and hotels, but after leaving for Aulani today, I don’t really want to go back. This place is so much nicer, and from here we can still visit other parts of the island, so our next trip will start and end here rather than Honolulu.
