Well located in town, but not in the hustle and bustle, so close enough to be super convenient and have good views, but not in the middle of it all. Staff was exceptional, helpful, professional and friendly. Some stand out staff names Brenden (check in), Steve and Wandile(wait staff). Hotel is small, well maintained and beautiful. I would recommend staying in the larger rooms - Mona Lisa room is excellent with its own terrace.

Beautiful home, short walk to many shops & restaurants in Clarens. The kitchen, lounge & dining rooms were all open-plan space that was perfect for our family trip to spend time together in especially those rooms. Loved the indoor bbq-area next to the kitchen. The home is beautifully decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Big garden that the kids enjoyed. Amazing views of the mountains in the distance.

Great property and host. The farm is a modern and peaceful place allowing you to kick back and relax. Hannetjie is very responsive and helpful and so is the rest of the staff on the farm. We would definitely come back.

We were disappointed with the shops.
We were disappointed with the shops. We would have loved more quality arts and craft by local artists. The glass was absent that we saw on our previous visits. It seems as though Clarence caters more for the drinking crowd. Although it make sense for profit we would hate to see the art go to waste.

I admired the good old antique furniture on the hotel
What I did not like:
No coffee facilities inside rooms
TV in room poor reception and only two boring channels
One evening waiters were cold to me and ignoring me when asking for menu and I waited long before they served me

A place away from the hustle bustle of a city, take your food as there aren’t any eating places during weekend.
Beautiful time with family and board games.
Wish we could stay longer.

We just enjoyed chilling out. Visited Golden Gate twice. Beautiful scenic drive to Fouriesberg. Mid morning coffees at Liewe Koffie. Xmas lunch at The Posthouse - delicious thin sliced gammon.
Ate twice at Bocca Di Lupo Italian restaurant - not cheap but very nice. Ate at Charlies Cafe - excellent Butter Chicken,
Ate at Clementines - do not order their Steak and Guiness pie. Ate at The Square - just average.
At Clarens you just park and walk. Walk some of the residential "back" streets and see some beautiful homes.
There are no great activities for young, fit and healthy 80 year olds - which is what we are.

Bethlehem is a small town.
Bethlehem is a small town. It is not far from CLARENS and GOLDEN GATE. You can drive to these two places in less than an our. We spent the whole day in CLARENS and bought some few items. We had our lunch there and walked around without fear of being mugged. There is a very good security; there was a security company patrolling around.

if you love nature, you can enjoy river walks to town. the shops are nice. the Bakery was one of the best because we could pop in there for those fresh rolls and buns and croissants in the early morning hours.
