The stay was fantastic...on a dream location in a magnificent building. Ryan and Princess were super kind, such great people. Taking a swim in the infinity pool during sunset. Price/quality of the food & wine is really good. Diner was fantastic... Personal approach once we were there. Good tips from the manager/the warm welcome of Princess

Excellent location so much to do.

Excellent location so much to do. The views were breath taking. People are friendly and welcoming. Excellent facilities. Security was excellent. No medical facilities near by almost stepped on a puff adder while walking on a path. More information on emergencies for snake bites required. Will definitely visit soon. Overall an excellent and magical destination.

This is a quaint small town village in the Natal midlands. There are farmer's supply stores, amazing homesteads, a variety of schools, and with proximity to the Drakensburg resorts, and good springboard into the mountains.

We had lunch at the pig and plough, nice menu - slow service, however, we still enjoyed the food and the venue. The Thokozi restaurant and Deli, good food and a nice variety. Sandra se Winkel was an experience - well worth going to when you are in the area.

Bergville is 'n pragtige plekkie.

Bergville is 'n pragtige plekkie. Soos met alle plekke in Suid Afrika tans, is die pad na en van Berville, vol slaggate en so ook in die dorp. Dit ten spyt, is dit die moeite werd om daarlangs te reis.

The Whistling Goat is an absolute gem.

The Whistling Goat is an absolute gem. The owners are hands on and very friendly. We ate breakfast there twice and both times the food and the service was outstanding. We also ate a meal at SPEIRS. This was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend a visit. Other places where we ate were The Lemon Tree Bistro, The Olde Duck, Moorcroft Manor and The Grind. I do not recommend that you eat at The Grind if you enjoy good food. The service there was awful and the food was not good at all. A trip up Sani Pass is an absolute must!! DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT!! We, sadly did not have our passports with us. So, I guess we're going to have to go back for this adventure. Unless you have a 4 x 4 vehicle I most definitely do not recommend that you take the sand/gravel road to Nottingham Road. It is definitely NOT a normal vehicle friendly road.

Electricity cut of many times during our stay due to the switch tripping. Drain clogged in shower. Carpets not vacuumed but only swept with a broom, which was evident in our continuous sneezing upon entering the room. Geyser switch tripped on checkout day and therefore we could not shower in our room. Rooms need to be better maintained and cleaned.

There are several resorts and a number of smaller accommodations in this picturesque valley, a hotspot for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. It is close to the famous Sani Pass, where 4X4 enthusiasts can ascend one of the highest and most scenic trails in Southern Africa. The town has charming shops and eateries, and many of the resorts offer a host of activities, restaurants and outdoor adventure options.

We didnt leave the lodge, there was a restaurant and bar available till 21:00. There is a lot of things to do where we stayed. The town itself seems to be old and not in the greatest condition. The road have a lot of bad spots.

The various accommodation options make it perfect for couples and families. Huge grounds allow you to get away for some peace and quiet if you want, but we did not feel overwhelmed by people and the place was full. You can either go and feed carrots to the horses or take a short drive to one of the many attractions in the area.
