I couldn't say how long ago it is since I first visited SRH. 40 years at least. I've been in and out over the years, but usually just for food or a function; I was never a regular, so it's hard to say how it's changed over the years. I know it's been spruced up a lot since my last visit- a much more dignified paint job for a start. Better parking facilities. Some new decks on the lawn. New furniture. But at heart, it's still the same old hotel, a bit of a time warp, but all the better for that. Our first day was blessed with one of those Natal coast midwinter days- bright and sunny. What a pleasure to sit out on the deck, Indian Ocean stretched out below us, and order a cold beer and a toasted curry sandwich- that's the life! We were back in SA for a wedding nearby, so we didn't dine in. Breakfast was OK, if a little overpriced, and the curry lunch we had on our last day was exactly as expected-worth every mile we'd travelled to get here.

Ekhaya guesthouse as the name suggests is truly a home away from home. We were warmly welcomed by Richard the host, who went out of his way to to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay. He generously shared stories about his life and these made for great entertainment during breakfast. Ekhaya is located in a safe area that is just minutes away from the beach, all major shopping centers and most tourists attractions. The house itself is neat, has several television sets with all subscriptions, and a cost sitting room that guests are welcome to use anytime. One can also make use of the many books that are around the house and in the rooms. There’s a pool and entertainment area outside. Richard made breakfast every day and offered all coffees and snacks in the kitchen as we wished.

I didn't know about this hotel group but will look for it in the future, for sure! Amazing service and place for such price! The apartment was huge, well-equipped for self-cathering, and nicely design. Sea view, easy and direct access to a wide and clean beach, two beautiful pools, very good food at the restaurant...no impair!

This was our third stay at Canelands and definitely won’t be our last. The situation is spectacular and the staff are really lovely. We are close to our niece and her family , whom they also welcome with open arms . Can’t fault it .

Ballito very beatifull lots to do, our acomadation very disapointing. A let down it is very neat and tidy but noise levels over weekends are terrable, couldent sleep. And getting in and out of complex is a tidies proses. No manager on site only security.

It is great for a family or if you enjoy quite time for yourself. Great walks can be done especially taking a walk to the kwik spar which is a really nice store . The teenage kids loved the tidal pool .We also loved the mall which was 5 minutes by car .

Ensure that you have your own transport to make your stay more enjoyable. Do not depend on public transport of any sorts. They are not available from around, meaning that those from afar will cost you more than anticipated because they are private booking shuttles, not cab services. It's a true getaway for when you don't want to be easily found/located.

I have been visiting the place quite often and each time has a different experience. Some visits were more pleasant than others but again the units have different hosts nd hostesses and so is their professionalism when dealing with guests. I can't let 1 bad experience ruined everyone's chance of visiting the place because Sibaya has amazing units, very private and your safety is of utmost importance to them. Checkers and Checkers Liquor are just a walking distance away to some and just a door step away from other properties. It is surely a place to visit when u need that quiet time either alone, with partner or even family.

Great location, good views, small town with a couple of shops and restaurants in walking distance, life guards on duty, big waves (so swim in the designated areas), also a calm river at the beach which my dogs loved (pet safe beach).

Definitely wouldn't recommend walking through the neighborhood. The property has a pool, squash and tennis courts. The beach is also an option and Ballito is about a 30 minute drive which has some amazing restaurants. There is also quad biking (Ballito Quad Bikes) nearby. There aren't Ubers nearby so recommend you drive your own car. No Uber eats or Woolies Dash but Sixty60 does service the area.

This is the most wonderful beach house in an incredible...

This is the most wonderful beach house in an incredible setting. Very unique and comfortable home with lots of features that make for a great holiday. Really lovely rooms and bathrooms where you can sleep to the sound of the ocean and the best private viewing deck overlooking the beach and ocean where you can sit for hours and just relax. Well stocked kitchen and excellent outdoor area for relaxing or entertaining. Close to lovely beaches for walking and various rock pools for everyone to enjoy. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the sea in a private and tranquil setting.

Honestly there's nothing to change there everything is just...

Honestly there's nothing to change there everything is just too perfect. We arrived late and guess what the security from the gate welcomed us with a great smile, he even called us by names which clearly tells us that they care about their clients. They helped us carrying our luggage to the room, when we got to the room WOOOW it was 100% on point, very clean and the location is great. Their breakfast is top notch I can't compare it with anyone's, the lady at the reception OMG she's soo friendly..actually everyone was so friendly and welcoming, I really enjoyed my stay and definitely I will recommend to my friends and family.
