New ZealandThe rooms were large and very comfortable. I loved how the mesh covering the windows let you leave the windows open to still enjoy the beautiful nature sounds. The facilities all around the lodge are incredible. The beautiful animals even came up to visit us some days. We feed Tuli the Tame Nyala and saw Pumbas wife with her little babies cruising around the lodge area. The staff go out of their way to make you feel like you are home and part of the family. Service and food is some of the best we have seen in the world and we are frequent travellers.

The game rangers were brilliant and the amount of very close big 5 viewings was extraordinary. Seeing a cheetah mum and her cub was the highlight, but the volume of game within Thanda makes it a great place to see lots of animals very close up.

Beautiful rooms - the large wrap around glass doors let nature in. Lying in bed and seeing a bush baby catch insects - just wow!
The staff are wonderfull - helpful friendly and doing their utmost to make your stay memorable
The food is delicious- cooked to perfection and served with a smile
The bushwalking with Mlu. His enthusiasm shows and tracking the leopard ( which we did not see) was a highlight. His love and knowledge of his culture and the bush is infectious

We did not eat there we booked at the self-catering chalets.
We would have loved to have breakfast but find R185 pp is a bit expensive.
We did have a drink at the bar witch we loved as the bar lady was on the ball and so help full and friendly and to top it off, she brought us a bowl of popcorn, what a nice gesture.
The property is like a little place in heaven rest for the soul. Will definitely be back, and the birding is fantastic.

thank you to our host for accommodating us in a different room due to the aircon not working. Much appreciated. Thank you for the friendly advice for our day at the Hluhluwe Game Park. Was glad that the accommodation was close to the park so we did not have to travel far to enter. Enjoyed our stay and will be back to stay on our next visit to the park.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful hospitality I received during my stay this past weekend. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed.
The food was exceptional and truly exceeded the value of what we paid — generous portions, great taste, and beautifully presented. Gogo’s warm and caring hospitality made the experience even more special; it is clear that she loves people and takes pride in making guests feel at home.
The pool experience was also fantastic — clean, refreshing, and perfectly positioned for relaxation.

There honestly isn't anything we didn't enjoy. The rooms accommodation was large, well kept, clean, and a great place to get away for a few days.

Central to a number of tourist attractions, i.e.
Central to a number of tourist attractions, i.e. Umfolozi National Park, St Lucia part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
The town is a typical bustling, vibrant rural town, traffic a bit chaotic.
I was staying for business purposes, If on vacation I would have probably stayed closer to where the main tourist attractions are.

Wish we could have spent longer than 2 days at the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi park. Saw lots of animals and the watsapp group that helps you to see much more in the park. We had lunch at the Hilltop Restaurant which had a wide variety of food. It was easy to get around and the guides also stop to let us know any sightings.
