When you step in the Monarch Hotel, you enter the world of well understood luxury. The hotel is perfectly located just next to the Rosebank Gautrain station (if you leave the station using the Southern Exit, the hotel appears right in front of your eyes). This tasetfully decorated building contains also an indoor patio/garden restaurant that will welcome and give you some rest from the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city. But most of all, what deserves more than a mention is the wonderful staff! They are friendly, welcoming, discreet, helpful and extremely respectful! They are simply a pleasure to be around. It is a safe haven that you are happy to come back to after the whole day full of activities. I was really happy with my choice.

The apartment was splendid. Everything was provided in excess, from the kitchen appliances to the towels and toiletries. We were spoilt for choice and pampered by house keeping staff. The apartment and entire hotel was extremely clean. The pool and gym area were spectacular. The hotel rate is quite expensive but great value for money spent.. I can't wait to come back there.

I had a fantastic stay at this boutique guest house. Andrew, the super host, and his team really went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The house was beautifully furnished and had a warm, inviting feel. I especially loved the real orchids placed around the building—they added a lovely touch. My room was exceptional: stylish, clean, and very cozy. The attention to detail and the friendly service made my stay memorable. I highly recommend this guest house for a special getaway.

It was overall a great stay at the Reef hotel. I was only here from 11am saterday, until 7am sunday, so 1 night. -The partner with a company for airport shuttles. It was (950 Rand) for round trip airport transfer. Check in was easy, but i was early at 11am, so paid 350 Rand for early check in. Noticed lots of workers like to dance, a guy from restaurant, and lady from door desk both dancing to themselves, happy. -Room was good, big, good views. Fridge, and many outlets to charge things. I did accidentally test their outlet safety system and got a shock when plugging in my adaptor to outlet, but it was my own fault, and all outlets were out. One call to reception and they sent the mechanic up to look, and switched it back on. TV works with 1 English channel i could find. Big bath tub and shower. Safe in the room, big closet and drawers, and 2 desks. -The hotel takes up one whole block, and has a restaurant below (i never went there), and a bar on the roof (i went to the entrance of it, but was underdressed so didnt enter (they have a sign saying dress code), no one was at the entrance though. there is 4 elevators, but at least 1 was not working. 2 staircases, one in building by elevators, and one on the side of the building away from elevators. Nice views from side stairs. -Location is great, 20 min drive from/to airport if not rush hour. 2 blocks from ghandi square, with lots of food options. It was a good location for pickup for my soweto tour, i was last picked up and first dropped off. I was out at night and it felt safe for me. beer/weed store next door

I did not like anything. The people did not even try! When I complained about the dirty sheets, i was told they were washed the day before. No effort at all. The breakfast was just another disaster, not even a chair to sit on.

I grew up close to Jozi, so it’s always a sentimental experience to see it again. The mine dumps and distressed buildings in town, the cemeteries and tall buildings, I love it! Living in Cape Town where local government fixes roads and cleans the streets, I’m always a bit shocked when I go up to see the level of decay, but the people and the vibe at least makes up for it! I spent a lot of time in Joburg central this time at the markets, and I loved it! It just has something no other place does.

The place is easily accessible and not far from the main road. Rooms are clean, environment very quiet and tranquil. The people are warm and friendly. I believe in future it will be even better than it is now. It has great potential for growth. Overall we had a wonderful time. Friendly staff and management. They do not have a self catering facility but still made sure we are able to use their facilities for preparing our own food. Tshidiso and Madala Richard made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you all for making our stay a memorable one.

I like the surroundings and going to the mall.

I like the surroundings and going to the mall. However it is not like Cape Town where there is security allround in the city centre and you feel safe. It was however enjoyable but had to leave my phone and other gadgets in the room
