The accommodation was modern, very comfortable, and had all the amenities for a long stay. To add to the warmth of the property, the host was marvellous with loving and genuine personal care and to our comfort. We also enjoyed the use of the pool table and the common area during our stay.
The property also boasts lovely two person accommodation, well separated from family units, which is great for discerning couples or business minded individuals.
Thank you for a lovely short stay. We hope to be back for a longer stay in the near future.

The pool was well kept and maintained. We could just drop the keys in the box when we left. The rooms have aircon which was a life saver during the December heatwaves.

This guesthouse has a beautiful pool area with nice views. Upon entrance, there are ostriches (behind a fence) greeting you. The property lies next to a road, but there is almost no traffic, so it’s not disturbing. Staff is wonderful (especially Mr Superman John).
If in Oudtshoorn, I would definitely recommend this stay, allowing you to do an ostrich farm tour on the property and to relax by the pool.

Huge spotless and comfortable duplex villa (for an incredible moderate rate). Tugged away in a green and enjoyable 'compound'. Nice pool (area). The biggest perk was the great friendly kind hospitable and charming lady that checked us in, provided us with information, arranged our laundry and looked after us during breakfast. All staff was pleasant.

Wakening up to the sound of birds, cannot be measured.
Then the calmness this place brings to you was exactly what we needed.
We had our little encounter with a spider, which was easy to catch and to release.
Don't miss the stargazing as it is a view you won't forget.
The BBQ on the top of the trees from the DIY was a beautiful experience.

Daniel and Sonja were very accomodating and helpful and provided us with great traveling tips during our two days in Oudtshoorn.

Had a fantastic toasted sandwich at the restaurant before the tour and a cold beer after the tour and so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the nature.

Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday and most restaurants close at 17:00 on a Monday. However, our host recommended we have dinner at the Karoo Art Hotel with a choice of fine dining or pub dinner. We choose pub dinner, which was delicious. Beautiful trail walks can be found around the farms. All-in-all a wonderful trip.

The only negative is the number of young coloured men asking to do and be useful when theyo are not required to do anything. One feels badgered.

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale,...
We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale, because when we arrived at the locked farm gate, we found there was no reception. We couldn't reach him, and it was soon getting dark, so we had to keep driving until we got signal again, which only took five minutes. Wann, the manager, was soon there and opened the gate to paradise for us... remote, behind two other farms, we were able to spend comfortable days in this Karoo resort. Wann was always available, and one evening his wife cooked us a delicious meal. A river, a hot tub, an ice bath, peace and quiet, and an endless sky—what more could you want? This is the place to be for anyone needing a break. For more romance, under the stars, bring candles and reading lamps.

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise...
Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.

From the main road it looks like just another dusty deserted Karoo town. What a pleasant surprise on turning off into the little town. We had a superb breakfast at @Stuff and met some interesting locals. The town is experiencing a resurgence and is intersting, well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. There is so much to see and do. The accommodation in Oudtshoorn, is generally excellent. The restaurants are very good, and the Game viewing is exceptional. The town itself has lots of character and charm.
