United KingdomWe were lucky to get a last minute booking here and we couldn’t fault our one night stay. From our arrival at the reception, the porter Sunshine’s friendly helpful service taking us to our beautiful accommodation, the plentiful supply of logs for the fire in our room, wonderful bath and toiletries and the delicious food both at dinner and breakfast the next day. The coffee at breakfast was the best hotel coffee I’ve had in a long time. The only disappointment was that due to load shedding we couldn’t use the spa facilities during our afternoon but I had a wonderful time using the pool , sauna etc the next day before walking back through the beautiful gardens before sadly having to say goodbye. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

A feeling that can only be described as Christmas morning as a child but within the trees at 40yrs of age😉
Loved every minute of our stay, so much that we stayed an extra night!
The hospitality and staff were exceptional.
I can not recommend this
place enough. We will most definitely be returning next year.

The 2 bedroom "cabin" was beautifully decked out with a comfortable sofa, comfy beds and a nice wooden outdoor dining setting and deck chairs on the verandah, which had a lovely partial view of the Knysna lagoon. All the kitchen pots, utensils and crockery is Le Creuset, which impressed us, and was nice to use. The braai worked well and kindling and firewood was included. The lovely the lagoon was great for relaxing under the milkwood trees, and to step off for a swim in the lagoon at high tide.

Beautifully decorated bedroom (number 4) with a view on the forest. Extremely quiet. The main shared areas (pool, lounge, dining room) are tastefully decorated as well, and the deck offers breathtaking views over the valley. The property offers the option of dining (for a very reasonable 350 ZAR per guest). Great breakfast, included in the rate. Great location barely one kilometer from the Monkeyland and Birds of Eden parks.

Waaauuuw!!! One of the best stays we had in South Africa. Very very very friendly staff. Very clean and comfy room with good beds. Delicious breakfast with view on the sea. You can park your car safely behind fances. Nothing is too much for this staff. They will always help you. This is absoluty a 10/10 !!

This is such a beautiful location we didn’t make it into town. We chose the restaurant first and accommodation second so we could relax and enjoy my birthday celebration. The food was incredible (and so affordable) and the hospitality some of the best we’ve had in SA.

We actuallly went up to visit a School friend, but got to drive around a bit and found Plett a lovely pretty place with lots of restaurants and craft markets. We also loved the Roadside Cafe as we had our Pet with us and it was perfect. Wished we had more time to explore.

Great place for a week end especially in summer. Adequate shops, coffee shops etc. Nice fish n chips, restaurants and lots of lovely places nearby like Wilderness Knysna etc. Lovely drives up the hills. Views beautiful, riding bikes fine. Walks to Gerickes point.

A beautiful region, with excellent restaurants. The Grootrivier and (Western Cape part of) the Bloukrans River passes are exceptional, as is Nature's Valley.
The Birds of Eden is THE world leading bird conservancy -- the biggest anywhere with free flying birds in a magnificent forest with a beautiful kloof, waterfall ,,, The nearby Monkeyland and Jukani conservancies are also probably the best in Africa.
Thyme & Again restaurant is also a favourite.

Natures Valley is very special.
Natures Valley is very special. Most other bays in the area are over developed and commercialised. Natures Valley still captures the time when going to the beach was not all about how magnificent your property was. Lets hope it stays that way.

Many establishments in the surrounding area do not allow dogs. So you can't eat in many places as no arrangements were made to accomodate dog owners. Some beaches banned dogs completely, even on a leash. I found this attitude very short sighted and unpleasant.

Buffelsbaai is a unpolished gem and the ocean and surroundings brings a special kind of calm to your soul that is not easy to put pen to paper about! it is beyond your imagination! We wandered around and did the Buffels Bay Hiking Trail and had something to drink at the Beach Restaurant and the people attending to our needs went out of their way to be so very kind and attentive.
Buffels Bay is very easy to get around to and everything is SO neat and well kept!!

Knysna is a beautiful town and a highlight in the Garden Route!
A must to visit is the waterfront area. We had a fantastic trip on a yacht to the Heads at sunset with Springtide! The restaurants at the Waterfront are the best in town.
We loved 34 Degrees South and Drydock Company.
A visit to the Heads is a highlight.
Knysna is surrounded with beautiful forest and there are plenty walks to choose from.
