From the moment I was greeted upon entry, the service was exceptional. Such genuine care to ensure everything was just right. Facilities are charming and rooms very comfortable. To be able to sit outside after our day of meetings and complete our workday, whilst overlooking the natural garden and golf course was a treat. Definitely recommend for a home away from home experience. Thank you, I hope to be back.

The old monuments everywhere make Kimberley very unique.

The old monuments everywhere make Kimberley very unique. The roads are wide and generally in good condition. There were lots of cute restaurants and coffee shops to visit. The big hole of Kimberley museum about the diamond mining was an excellent tour and very well put together. I can highly recommend the Heights restaurant and bar - stunning view and layout and delicious food. Also I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Doc's coffee and their set up and garden is a bit like Alice in wonderland - very pretty. Then I also tried Providence Cafe which is inside an old house with beautiful pressed ceilings and wooden floors. They also make delicious donuts and bagels not to mention great coffee. There is also a place called Germar Biltong and Petting zoo and that is very cute and has lots of great entertainment for children. There were plenty museums I still wanted to visit and that wildlife park but I didn't have time. People were really friendly and the service was good.

The streets are kept clean.

The streets are kept clean. It is easy to find your way around town. We ate at Bordeaux - the food was delicious, and the service was food. The people in town were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. We visited the Chargo Farm Stall and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of goods on sale. Colesberg is definitely a must visit when travelling from Gauteng to the Cape

I was quite surprised by Upington as a town.

I was quite surprised by Upington as a town. We went on a boat cruise on the river, which was very, very nice. Sakkie se Arkie is a definite hit and I will definitely do that cruise again when I visit the town again. We were supposed to go wine tasting, but time caught up with us, and we are already planning a return visit. The restaurants that we visited, had very nice food, no complaints there at all. Went to different shops, looking for a specific item, and all the shop assistants were extremely helpful and friendly, directing us to other shops where the item might be available, especially at the Kalahari Mall.

Our guys go up on a regular basis for work and are super impressed with everything. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, everything in working order. Their only complaint is that they cannot spend too much time in the garden as they are in Kuruman to work! Other than that, they really enjoy it. Perfect place for a work crew.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Augrabies area.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Augrabies area. We visited the Augbragies waterfalls, went on the game drive, visited Riemvasmaak and did river rafting on the Orange rivier. The area is a real treat, for us the distance between the places was something to get used to. Also, when travelling there, ensure that you have a jerry can that you can fill up with diesel. When we got to Augrabies and wanted to fill up, they were out of diesel and the closest petrol station is in Kakamas, 48km's further. Thankfully, we had a jerry can. Most people from the area are friendly and helpful. Other than that, pack comfortable clothes, shoes and an adventurous spirit.

Richmond offers an ideal stopover for travelers journeying from Gauteng to Cape Town, conveniently located more than halfway to the Mother City. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of accommodation available. Do be aware that the town tends to shut down around 5 PM, so plan accordingly for dinner and other essentials. A definite highlight was the local butchery, Richmond Meat & Deli. It proved to be a real winner, offering excellent coffee and delicious homemade pies – perfect for a tired traveler!
