We had lovely, very tasty ostrich steak and roast veggies for dinner and a delicious cooked breakfast. Our overall experience left a very positive feeling about the hotel; old time grandeur!!

Stop looking further and book the Zwartberg Mountain View Lodge, it is magnificent! We stayed for two nights with our four children (9-14 yrs) and absolutely loved the lodge, the view, the animals on the grounds, the pool, the braai dinners and the walking trail. Varley and Hannalize are fantastic and helpful hosts and we very much enjoyed talking to them about life in SA as well as the many great sites in the area. We could easily have stayed another night or two. A highlight on our trip. Easy accessible with any car. Hope that we will visit again one day!

An family-run old traditional house, apparently which was an old library and tobacco store, converted into a 'farm house'. Wooden floors and super high ceilings. The garden was beautiful full of flowers. A swimming pool for the kids to swim. And the Wilgewandel public farm was truly amazing! The kids had the best time on the lake and the water slides were an amazing! And a peacock walking around the restaurant! Amazing. And the staff were so helpful and friendly. Very thankful for the wonderful service!

Amazing people and incredibly clean. Lettie was superb and welcomed us warmly and helped with anything we needed. We had days where we had no electricity for a few hours in the morning so had to get up really early to shower otherwise no hot water but did hear they were getting solor panels so that would be great. This is not something they can control but can improve on by facilitating their guests needs

This guesthouse has a beautiful pool area with nice views. Upon entrance, there are ostriches (behind a fence) greeting you. The property lies next to a road, but there is almost no traffic, so it’s not disturbing. Staff is wonderful (especially Mr Superman John).
If in Oudtshoorn, I would definitely recommend this stay, allowing you to do an ostrich farm tour on the property and to relax by the pool.

The scenery and friendly host. Barry took us on an unplanned 4 X 4 trip to explore the farm which was amazing and much appreciated. A wild tortoise welcomed us and there was a good verity of birds.

Oudtshoorn is a beautiful town, so much to offer day and night. many attractions in and around town which are definite must do items. Mostly the people of Oudtshoorn are humble and friendly. Amenities are super easy to find and always close by. Love this town. Le Dolce Vita very cozy, Karoopot, Karoo Markt, all are great places. Pricing well within budget

The area surrounding De Rust is beautiful, especially the mountain passes, which have stunning scenery and lots of hiking opportunities. There are very few shops or restaurants in De Rust, but Oudtshoorn is just a easy 30km drive away and this has plenty of shops, restaurants and activities. Staying on a farm between the Meiringspoort pass and De Rust was perfect though. Just buy plenty of groceries before you get there!

Had a fantastic toasted sandwich at the restaurant before the tour and a cold beer after the tour and so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the nature.

Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. There is so much to see and do. The accommodation in Oudtshoorn, is generally excellent. The restaurants are very good, and the Game viewing is exceptional. The town itself has lots of character and charm.

The cottage is perfect for a short or long stay. There is a large back patio with built-in braai, protected from the water and a front stoep to soak in the beautiful views. The bathrooms are really spacious with large walk in showers. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. There is no TV but fast wifi so streaming from your phone is easy.
