This is a wonderful privately owned and operated hotel. It makes a change from the sameness of the multiples. Waiters are in white jackets and bows with excellent customer service. The location itself is a little village in its own right up a steep hill overlooking Montreux and the lake. The view in the morning is the most magnificent view I have ever had while enjoying breakfast. Staff are friendly, especially Jasmine, on reception. This hotel represents old world values in the best possible sense.

Overlooking Lake Geneva and only 20 metres from the lakeshore, this guest house is a 5-minute walk from the train station and the convention centre in Montreux.

Location is perfect. We had the gorgeous suite on the top floor and loved it. The sunset and moonset are exquisite from the terrace. Beds are very comfortable.

The room and bathroom were very big, and clean. Excellent view of the lake and the mountains, with chairs and a little table to sit outside on the balcony and enjoy it to the fullest. Unbeatable location, right on the promenade, 10 minutes away from the train station, and close to supermarkets and a shopping centre. Great service, with full amenities available in the room - toiletries, towels, slippers, bathrobe, minifridge. Also the Belle Époque architecture is really stunning, so that's a plus if you enjoy that sort of thing!

Amazing and super well located hotel in the very heart of Montreux. Its Belle Epoque style interior is simply breathtaking, full of unique century-old furniture and pieces of art. The hotel management kindly upgraded us to a lake-view room, which was extremely nice and sweet! The room itself was very spacious, beautifully designed, bright and contained all the necessary things, but the real cherry on top was definitely the view from the balcony overlooking the lake! That view was so stunning, it made feel like a character of some high budget romcom! Room was cleaned thoroughly every single day. Great breakfasts which take place at the beautiful old classy restaurant with waiters kindly serving you beverages on demand. The selection of food was good enough to satisfy nearly every taste and preference, including salmon, Swiss cheese, vegan options and plenty of fruit. The garden of the hotel is absolutely something! Super neat, well-groomed and having it all to make guests completely relax on warm sunny days spent swimming or just chilling by the lake, as entry to the lake is just as you leave the garden. Hotel Rene is a pure esthetic delight in all regards! So highly recommended!
