We spent 5 nights to celebrate a milestone birthday. It was a pleasure! The hotel is well located in the sense that you are close to everything but away from the busy centre. We loved the architecture, the artwork, the library, and the food! The restaurant is superb! We ate here several times. The quality is just fantastic. The staff were friendly and always helpful in various inquiries. They also arranged special transport for me one day to a site 30 minutes from Oxford. We also liked our room 28 on the top floor. It was most definitely a period room (entrance door low), but perfectly modern, large, and we loved it.

Our room was very spacious and quite beautiful with a small patio in the garden. The tea, hot chocolate and biscuits were much appreciated, as well. Breakfast was delicious and was served in the lovely winter garden. The staff were very polite and helpful. We felt very comfortable here and would certainly stay here again in the future.

The breakfast is probably one of the best I have had in any hotel I’ve stayed in. We only arrived at 2am thanks to the air traffic control flight chaos in the uk, instead of 5pm so unfortunately did not get to enjoy the hotel to its fullest but highly recommend anyway
