My wife and I recently stayed at the Kempinski Hotel in Bansko, and while most of the experience was exceptional, there were a couple of things worth noting. First, the breakfast was outstanding—easily a 10/10. The egg station was a standout, with fresh and perfectly prepared dishes each morning. The variety and quality were excellent. We were served by Darko during dinner, and he was truly exceptional. His wine recommendations were spot-on, and he made our dining experience special. Props to him for his impeccable service. The reception was welcoming and efficient, and the pool area was fantastic—well-maintained and the perfect spot to relax. However, one thing that bothered us was the lack of enforcement of the restaurant’s dress code. While there is a policy in place, we noticed people dining in shorts, and worse, some were even blowing their noses at the tables, but everything else was exceptional.

The location was beautifully peaceful, making it a perfect retreat. Breakfast was included and absolutely worth having - a great way to start each day before heading out The owner was very helpful, though we hardly needed any assistance—it truly felt like a home away from home. It's an ideal base if you're planning to visit the Rozhen Monastery on foot (around an hour's walk with a slightly challenging stretch near the end), explore local wineries, soak in the area's tranquillity, and enjoy delicious regional cuisine and nearby villages. We only stayed a couple of nights, but we could have happily lingered much longer.

Zeynep went out of her way to make the stay comfortable. Although the season was already over, she kept the saunas and heated outdoor pool open around the clock to accommodate our late night wishes. Zeynep not only recommended an outstanding seafood restaurant and reserved a table - when we finished our delicious meal, the waiter came with a huge plate of desserts and told us it was a present from Zeynep. The breakfast at the hotel was also very tasty. We will definitely come back!
