The Villa Victoria is a most charming hotel right near the center of Coburg. It is within walking distance to most of the sites. There was private parking, and the hotel room and bath were very spacious, comfortable and clean. The guest rooms are in one building, and the reception and breakfast are in a building across the street. The decor of the breakfast rooms is very Victorian and charming! The breakfast had a lot of choices. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. I will not stay anywhere else when I visit Coburg. I love the Villa Victoria!

24 km from Bayreuth Central Station, Pension Haus Wanninger is a recently renovated 4-star guest house in Warmensteinach, providing rooms with free WiFi and pool with a view. The breakfast was diverse and generous—eggs, meat, drink of your choice plus juices, breads/jams/honey/Nutella, fresh fruit, sliced meats/cheeses. Hostess was friendly, accommodating; room and bath were spacious. Shower particularly nice. Outside Bayreuth 30 minutes but easy to find and a great value, though cash only.
