Situated 25 minutes drive from the historic cities of Bath and Bristol, surrounded by quaint villages and stunning countryside, The Old Parsonage is a Grade II* listed 17th-century house, which retains many original features such as period fireplaces and a 17th-century staircase. This is a beautiful old property which makes a lovely b&b. I only wish we’d had longer.

King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn slept in one of the bedchambers and walked through the ancient gardens at Thornbury Castle - A Relais & Chateaux Hotel, a Tudor castle near the Cotswolds and Welsh Borders. Not a hotel, but an experience. A definite recommendation.

Guests can also relax in the garden. Although you manage your own breakfast, the range was amazing! Cereal, toast, cheese pate jam, marmalade chocolate spread marmite, fruit juice, yoghurt , biscuits …amazing!

Each room at Two Rivers Lodge Two Rivers Lodge has free Wi-Fi, free bottled water, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Excellent all round experience, the breakfast was perfect and the staff very friendly. Will definitely stay again.

A full English or continental breakfast is served daily at The Three Tuns. The inn uses local ingredients, offering a relaxed bar menu and roast dinners on Sundays. Guests enjoy views of the castle from the beer garden and live music on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The Three Tuns hotel is a lovely Welsh Pub right beside the Chepstow Castle and the Eye River with England just across the birdge. Room 4 has its own entrance from the road and is delightful. It has a small kitchenette (microwave, jug & sink, but no fridge or stove), good heaters, good water pressure and and great hot water. We were permitted to keep our touring bikes in the room with us. The included full Welsh breakfast really got us going the next day. We would stay again.
