Oshi Ryokan is located in Nagano, 20 km from Zenkoji Temple, 22 km from Nagano Station, as well as 32 km from Suzaka City Zoo. This ryokan provides free private parking, luggage storage space and free WiFi. The ryokan features family rooms. The hosts were some of the best people we have met on our travels. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The property is nearly 200 years old and was very well maintained, so we got to experience the authentic japanese way of life. The property was very conveniently located, being just a few steps away from the bus stand and the Shrine.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. A free shuttle is available from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. This was our first stay at a ryokan. Our hosts were very pleasant and attentive. We couldn't have asked for a kinder welcome. Our host came to the train station to pick us up, showed us around and provided us with lots of information about things to do around Shibu Onsen. His recommendation of Enza Cafe and its food was excellent. We were also able to borrow ice cleats for our walk to the snow monkey park. Our hostess delivered a traditional homemade Japanese breakfast to our room in the morning. The meal was presented beautifully in a lacquer box and it was delicious and healthy.

A small 6-room inn with Ryokan meals and cosy interiors, Yasuragi is just a few minutes drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park and an 8-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station. Hot-spring baths are featured. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free pick-up service from Yudanaka Station is provided. I wish I could speak Japanese to express 100% my feelings to the owners when we left. We had an AMAZING experience, from the picking up on the train station to the comfy beds and outstanding dinner. The onsen baths was really good, and the shared bathroom was not a problem at all since, in practice, the shower is in the onsen space. Last thing: they also took us to the station by car in the early morning. So kind! We definitely left the place in better mind and shape even staying just for one night.
