The Golden Crown Hotel is a 5-star hotel located in Ampitya, Kandy, Srilanka. During my recent stay I had the pleasure of interacting with Taranga, the front office in charge. Their warmth and efficiency made check-in a breeze, and throughout my stay, they were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. The reception team as a whole was incredibly welcoming and hospitable, creating a comfortable atmosphere from the moment I arrived. Special mention goes to Roshan the restaurant manager, whose friendly demeanor and attentive service added to the overall exceptional experience. I highly recommend the Golden Crown Hotel for its outstanding staff and impeccable service.

This is a rare find! The owner speaks excellent English and has the manners of a British lord. He greeted us ahead of our check-in time, accommodated us with guava juice and made sure our room was already cleaned before letting us in and explaining how everything worked. The room is beautiful, spotless clean and relatively modern (it has a flatscreen tv), clean fridge and formidable double wardrobe to put our clothes. The tea table was adorable, filled with tea/coffee staples and even metal cutlery in case we ordered in (came in handy!). The bathroom is shiny and new, nice shampoo & wash, great water pressure and temperature. Our room had its own terraced garden which was such a piece of heaven, and the location is a bit away from the craziness and honking of the main road (even though it's only 5min away by foot), so our senses really appreciated it. He also gave us very good tips on how to move around the city, and we found everything to be within walking distance. DIGITAL NOMADS: the wifi has several routers and it's fiber, so it works flawlessly, even for video calls! BONUS: we had to do laundry but the owner offered to ask his cleaning lady, and he told us we were free to pay her whatever price we deemed fair (very diplomatic of him). EXTRA BONUS: Jayjay - the most beautiful and playful German shepherd we've met (not only in Sri Lanka, but anywhere).

Das in Kandy gelegene Mountbatten Bungalow- Thema Collection - Kandy begrüßt Sie mit einem Außenpool und einer großen Sonnenterrasse. Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön in den Bergen über Kandy gelegen, sodass man in Ruhe und mitten im Grünen wunderbar entspannen kann. Chulan, der Manager vor Ort, hat uns rundum drei wunderbare Tage bereitet und alle unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Insbesondere das Sri Lanka Frühstück am Morgen, aber auch dies Viergängemenüs am Abend im Haupthaus haben uns gut geschmeckt. Preislich ist die Unterkunft definitiv am oberen Ende angesiedelt, dafür eben aber auch perfekt mit äußerst zuvorkommendem Personal.

The whole place was amazing.Tucked away in a private place away from the city centre, it overlooked a tiny forest..absolutely zen! Quiet, fresh refreshing mountain air in the morning....peaceful..a truly great getaway.Our huge room was gorgeous. .housed 4 of us comfortably..we had a private balcony, living room, tea room...the bathroom was huge, spotless ,with toiletries, the shower area had stones that acted like a mini pedicure for our feet. Hot steaming shower..heavenly! We had a fantastic dinner that night...so much home cooked food. The hosts were simply warm people who were there to see to our every need...Breakfast too was good....we wished we could have stayed longer as the stay was too short to enjoy the place...Highly recommend them...if you wish to have a peaceful holiday in Kandy.

Everything was perfect! ❤️ big space, comfortable beds, very clean. And the most important the greatest hosta in the world, we feel like they were our family so it was really hard to say goodbye. They are so kind and helpful with everything. Take breakfast! It was the best breakfast during our trip in Sri Lanka 😋
