Wonderful place to stay in relax with my wife, around the beautiful serra da Estrela. Elsa gave us lot of tips to enjoy our time there and also for our trip in Portugal. The pleasure to talk with her is what we'll remember for all our life because she's so kind, friendly, a very good person, but in the same time she never forget to be professional. The suite was really clean, in a perfect way, big and complete of everything necessary. Breakfast with the best local products and the delicious orange cake and Elsa's jams. Located in Seia, Chao do Rio - Turismo de Aldeia features rustic homes, as well as an outdoor biologic swimming pool and free bicycles. The traditional stone-built units are inserted in natural surroundings which include a garden and a flock of sheep. What a lovely place with lovely people 🥰 we can highly recommend it!

I liked everything: the room, the furniture, the central heating, the bathroom, the cleanliness, the mattress, the welcome (free) tea / coffee, the decoration, the breakfast (not included but with great food for a fabulous price), and the sympathy and availability of the staff.

As you drive up to the house, you will drive all the way around the cathedral and enter parking on the backside of the cathedral. Depending on the number of cars parked in cathedral square, you might have to turn left around them to enter thru the gate of #25. If you see #27, do not continue on the road to the right. The entrance to parking in a gated courtyard is to the left of 27. Once you are there, however, the hostess is so very nice and the location is perfect. The home is beautiful, filled with antiques and charm, and there’s a pleasant garden to sit in. Our room was perhaps a little smaller than the average hotel room, but with a comfortable bed, super modern bathroom, and view of the garden. The house is air conditioned. We wished we’d planned 2 days to potter around Guarda and enjoy. As other guests have advised, there is one, big set of stairs you have to go up with your luggage. In the morning, breakfast is at the base of those stairs. No ramp or elevator. Breakfast was lovely: meat and cheese, cereal, fruit, bread, fresh jams, a sampling of cakes and coffee/tea/juices/water.
