Joum was always available to provide advice about visiting Sukhothai, and she has a well-prepared information booklet for her guests. I really cannot say enough good things both about the experience of staying here, and about the couple that run this lovely place. We arrived and they immediately made us feel so welcome. The advice they gave us for seeing the wonderful ruins around this rustic area was spot on. It’s a really relaxing place, Sukhothai. We would definitely consider going back just for a quiet break amongst the ruins of this former city. I noticed that, amongst other things, there is a sign at the front of the City Resort which says “learning centre”. I presume they run educational retreats or something like that. But that said, it occurred to me that the couple running this property provide a master class in how to run a hospitality business. If anyone wants to know how to make guests feel at home just come here! Also, almost forgot to mention the breakfast. This really was a highlight. Lots of little treats, some from the local markets. And they even told us the Thai names for things - which we are still practising ;)

This resort is an oasis just blocks from the Main Street in old Sukhothai. Rooms and balcony are very nice. Pool was great to cool off in. The staff keep everything very clean and all is well maintained. Breakfast was delicious! Rent a bike to tour the historical park and surrounding ruins.

Het Tharaburi Resort biedt een cultureel en rustig toevluchtsoord op afstand van de stad. Beautiful rooms and reception foyer. Love the gardens and mini water lakes. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Great location.
