Private roten buro-bath was exceptional. The room was huge. Self-service coffee bar was nice and food was more than we could eat.

The location is ok. This place is run by very sweet and old ladies who do not speak English. Things van be chaotic. There is a communal (hinoki) hot tub but very small. What made the stay memorable was meeting people there and a very late night talk. And the breakfast was nice too and I will cherish the small goodbye gifts

The onsen was excellent, especially the outdoor stone onsen. The staff was very helpful. Before bedtime, they helped us to prepare our futon bed. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and nicely served. We had a room with tatami with ample space. The children loved it a lot. There was a shuttle bus driving between the train station and the hotel. It was very convenient.

For our more than three-week trip around Japan, we booked most of the accommodation in advance. This was an exception, as we were not sure in advance where we would end up before departure. Although the outside looks like a classic concrete hotel like the tens of thousands in Japan, inside it was a cozy hotel offering everything. The room was large with a beautiful view of the bay. Lobby with drinks 24 hours a day and soup after 9 pm, both free. The hotel also has a beautiful large swimming pool with warm water open in the morning and evening. Men in particular will appreciate the view of the sea from the pool. The hotel is about 1.5 km from the station, but offers a free transfer to the hotel and the station. The staff was really very kind and professional. Definitely one of the best accommodations we had during our long trip. I must not forget the truly extraordinary breakfasts served in classic Japanese style. Booking usually says "fantastic" breakfast included in the price of accommodation. Sometimes the breakfasts are good, sometimes not, and the price does not say anything about them. We had almost all accommodation with breakfast here in Japan, and the breakfast in this hotel was truly fantastic. We were very pleasantly surprised by Toba, especially the aquarium, the pearl island and the sea ride. If we could, we would have stayed more than two full days.

This was the nicest hotel I have stayed at in Japan. We stayed for my birthday and it was an incredible experience. The hotel is right on the water. The welcome and check-in was superb - very relaxing and through. The room was large and had full water views. The onsen facilities were amazing, particularly the outdoor onsen right next to the bay. The kaiseki dinner was amazing. So much food and all delicious. So happy we decided to stay here.

Hinode Ryokan is an old-fashioned family-run inn just a short walk away from Iseshi train station and Ise Jingu Outer Sanctuary. The staff is kind and helpful, the facilities are clean, and the traditional Japanese breakfast is very filling. I’ve used this accommodation as a base for visiting the Ise Jingu, Meoto Iwa, and Matsusaka by public transport, and found it very convenient.

If you are up for a classic ryokan-type stay that doesn't bust your budget, this is the place. Innkeepers are very friendly and helpful. Our room was large enough and the bath was a communal bath was a great Japan-only experience. Breakfast is very Japanese so might not be for everyone but it's the experience that counts.

Staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. They were available to answer our questions and provided a wonderful breakfast for us. We had our luggage shipped from Tokyo with Yamato transport and the staff gladly accepted this and had it waiting in our room when we arrived. The onsen was an absolute delight. The ryokan was quiet and the room was very comfortable
