The facilities are fantastic with both private and public baths as well as an osen bath in the room. The dinner/breakfast was amazing and the overall feel of the place was fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend this place for families.

We loved our stay at Chalet Ivy Jozankei. The staffs were very attentive and friendly. They all spoke English and were nice enough to put two single beds together to make a king bed. Our meals were also nicely prepared and healthy , with a wide variety of ingredients. The scenery was beautiful and it was fine for us to do nothing and just stay in the hotel, watching it snow and sipping tea. The snack bar was a treat with local snacks! We will definitely be back. It was a nice retreat after a few days at the slopes and a very unforgettable experience.

This is possibly my favourite hotel ever . The design the atmosphere , the location . From start to finish our 2 night stay was wonderful. The welcome ( we were met in the car park as we drove in , and helped with our bags ) offered a glass of fizz as we checked in . Our room was spacious , tatami floored and totally Japanese with a private onsen . Dinner and breakfast were served overlooking an exquisite garden and pond . There was also a separate Japanese Garden to enjoy . The meals were really interesting and beautiful cooked . It has an open kitchen which is spotless and calm. I didn’t want leave . 2 nights was not enough . Now we know it’s so convenient for Sapporo we will definitely return .

Everything was great, from the room, room size, onsen, food, lounge, and price. The room is spacious compared to many other japanese style room elsewhere and it's also very clean and comfortable. We had the half-board booking and both the dinner and breskfast were extraordinary. Both were kaiseki course meal with all kinds of food locally produced. We had more than enough food. Since we were traveling in a group of a few couples, we found the lounge area and the lounge snacks and drinks to be perfect to accommodate groups. There were honey tasting, beers, and after dinner snacks which were a perfect setting to just chill and hangout. Lastly, the hotel offer shuttle bus back to sapporo in the morning. The location is also good as it is a short walk to the Jozankei small town and to the bus stop.

The room was spacious and there was a nice window view. Its quiet and clean. Albeit the staff does not speak english that well, they were polite and very hospitable. They try to be helpful as much as they can. Onsens were big with a variety of temperature. And the outdoor ones were very relaxing The dinner course was unexpected and delicious. Breakfast was satisfying too. Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful first onsen experience here. Will definitely come again.

Food is exquisite in taste & presentation. Staff service is excellent. Room is large & comfortable with beanbags for lounging around. The lobby & lounge are tastefully decorated with art pieces. The ambience is very zen & quiet. Perfect for a retreat. We also get complimentary tickets to the Jozankei Nature Luminarie. Wish we could stay longer.

All the little details - greeting at the door, personalised checkin in our room with drinks and snacks. Staff were lovely. Stocked mini bar. Complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge. The Kaiseki style breakfast in private dining area was amazing. Plus an indoor and outdoor private onsen in the room. The accommodation was very elegant and had a boutique luxury vibe. Loved the decor and the chairs in the tatami area were really comfy and sturdy. We'd stay again.

Booked a room with 4 beds and a tatami for 2. Spacious room, nice buffet dinner and breakfast. Onsen facility is good. Free shuttle bus must be booked 2-3 months a head as always fully booked. Easy to take public bus (790Y) from JR Sapporo but the bus is always full. Stood in the bus for 90 minutes. Half way from Sapporo is Fu Snow resort, can get down for a half day ski on your way back to Sapporo. Connected to sister hotel, female sharing sister hotel onsen.

This hotel really exceeded my expectations. It was a little bit old, but the room was warm, large, and had an excellent view. The hotel staff will make the futon beds for you and the futon beds are very comfortable here. The onsen facilities are nice, as well as the outdoor foot bath. Theres also plenty to do here. I regret not bringing my swimmers, because they have a pool here. There are even karaoke rooms you can rent. Great location, and plenty of variety at breakfast as well.

Everything about this hotel is great. We enjoyed the onsen which has an open air hot spring pool and other pools. The buffet breakfast and dinner were wonderful with lots of options and were delicious. The location is walking distance to the parks and water-bath garden. The park was illuminated at night during this autumn. So beautiful! Well worth the money and highly recommended.
