The most exceptional service I've ever seen (and I've traveled 40 countries so I know what I am talking about)! The place is a bit out-dated but it has its own charm and the quality of service and attention is simply next level! Great view from the room, food quality is amazing and meals are very big and diverse! They offer transfer to/from train station as well as drive where you need in the morning when you go sightseeing, which is highly appreciated! Onsen area is small but has a nice view (women's section) and you get to wear a beautiful yukata they prepare you in the room. Japanese futons (bed) are very comfortable even though you need to get used to it after Western bed.

Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted kindly and helped with our bags. Everything was explained clearly and we even got to choose our own kimono’s to wear inside the Ryokan during our stay! The room was spacious, very clean and nice and warm. The tatami beds were very comfortable to our surprise (first experience with them) and we enjoyed the onsens as well (seperate for men and women). The Ryokan itself was so cosy, it felt like walking into a home. When checking out, we were also helped with shipping our bags to our final destination, which helped a lot. Highly recommend Ryokan Asunaro!

Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. It features traditional Japanese cuisine served in the dining area, suites with in-room hot springs and a garden. fantastic onsenji hotel! the staffs are very friendly and helpful. the location is also very nice,which is walkable , as well as the bus station is upon it. hotel also provides pick-up and drop-off services to the kawaguchiko station. the amazing free breakfast and valuable dinner . onsenji is awesome!
