All units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! Great location, the hot springs are really exceptional two types of water a sauna and a cold plunge. Rooms are great! Hotel is spotlessly clean. The food was very very good portion size was surprisingly big.

We had two night here for our honeymoon and we loved everything about it. The staff were so kind, helpful, and patient. We had a massage and a facial organised by the hotel and they were both great. Wonderful staff, 4 private onsens, great products, free to borrow Yukatas, really cute breakfast and welcome snacks, big room(s), location is right in the middle by Yubatake, room was excellent and had private bathroom (but no shower, but that's by design in onsen towns).

This ryokan was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Excellent seasonal and varied breakfast options, with an attention to detail unparalleled in my travel experience. The soaking pools met our hopes and needs perfectly, and we preferred the private rooms to any of the town’s public onsens. Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the location was great—away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Staff were incredible—helpful, welcoming, and friendly despite our limited Japanese language skills! Would highly recommend for a quiet, peaceful stay.

Located along Houshi River, Houshi Onsen Chojukan features a public hot spring bath, Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and Japanese cuisine. A wooden building stemming from 100 years ago, the property breathes a historical atmosphere. Very special place. Worth the money and travel.
