Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths.

Guests at Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan stay in rooms with shoji paper screens and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a TV and slippers. This place gave me a family feelings. It’s not like a normal hotel where they treat you as a guest. When I came back to the hotel, I saw grandma and grandpa watching TV, like they’re waiting for family members to come back home. All services they gave me made me feel like I was their family, especially the Thai staff. Since We’re both from Thailand so she helped me speaking with Japanese staff when I need assistance.

Every room comes with a balcony with garden views. The location was amazing; I could see Fuji-san from the window while I sipped on my coffee. The staff were brilliant and friendly. The food was exceptional; fine dining. But the best was the private onsen; I nearly sat in it for half a day.
