We had a great stay in Nanten-en! The staff is very nice and always ready to help. The place is lovely (room, garden, etc), just next to the Amami train station. The onsen is a nice experience, very relaxing. Diner in the room is fabulous (different dishes are served) and bed are very comfy. We highly recommend to stay at Nanten-en to live fully the ryokan experience :)

This is a fantastic place if you want to take some time to relax and take it slow, outside of the busy parts of Osaka. The best part our experience were the hosts, who were a lovely couple, very eager to help with anything, from restaurant recommendations to a lift to a train station. The second best part were the baths - it may seem weird at first that there are no bathrooms inside rooms (except for a sink), but that incentivises the use of the baths, which are for private use and were truly a highlight.

Beautiful stay. The area/home was so scenic/picturesque and relaxing. It was sooo clean! Room was spacious with lovely decor. Lots of toiletries provided. The only regret I have is not getting there earlier and stay longer than one night! The private sauna/spa area was amazing! Couldn't have been happier and the most perfect way to unwind and relax. Right in the heart of the national park, which was a lovely walk in the morning.

This was our favorite stay in all of Japan. Traditional Japanese ryokan, the view from the balcony was insane, the beds were amazing, the location is unbeliveable and the staff is very helpful. We loved all of it- for the price we paid we got 100x what we bargained for

Great location near subway. Local market right around the corner. Traditional Japanese ryokan with rollup beds. The AC was great!

Perfect location, very central and few minutes walk from the metro station. Sleeping in a ryokan is a great adventure, and the futon beds were very comfortable! Breakfast was nice as well, recommended if you would like to try the whole experience. They kept our luggage in the morning and we found them carried in our room when we checked in later in the afternoon.

Just a very typical charming ryokan. Not too traditional, not too modern, just right :)

11 course menu (Kaiseki) was outstanding, just like the rest of the meals. Everybody was very friendly and accommodating. Received personal advice on what to see in the area. Very quiet, despite train station in close proximity. Hot spring (onsen) can be used almost all day and night. Beautiful traditional Japanese rooms. Would love to stay again.

The hotel is very close to Dotonbori and Kuromon Ichiba Market, making it a great location for experiencing the food culture in Osaka. There was plenty of space in the room, and a pleasant, traditional style with futons and a tatami mat.

Of course the onsen, but also the breakfast room, which looked very friendly and open. The breakfast itself was very good as well, especially nice as it was a traditional breakfast - as well as traditionally served. The room was nice, but of course traditionally small as a Japanese room with futons. We got exactly what we expected as a "typical Japan experience"

It met my expectation that it really looks like a ryokan. The smell of the tatami mat is delicious. There is even a kimono. Quiet neighborhood. Location is good, less than 10min walk to train stations.

Good position, near the metro station. They provided a lot of snacks and toiletries. Good value for who wants to try to sleep on a futon (it’s not an authentic ryokan). Private toilet is a plus.

The onsen was nice! The aesthetic was cute and traditional. I also liked trying on the free yukata. It's an excellent location if you can get past the sound.
