The ryokan was charming, centrally located and right on the river. Our room and the baths were lovely. The freshly brewed coffee for guests in the morning was much appreciated on such a snowy morning.

All guests have access to the on-site hot spring public baths, and they can be reserved for private use. (please inquire at the front desk for more information.) We really liked Yudanaka Yasuragi. The owners did everything to make us feel comfortable—they picked us up from the train station, drove us to the monkey park the next day, and were generally very kind and eager to help. The food was amazing—you really can't miss the dinner they serve there; it was one of the best we had in Japan. The onsen is fantastic, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. You should definitely visit this place!
