The inn was so beautiful and many wonderful qualities. It's location is in the middle of a lively street full of shops and restaurants and a close (though uphill) walk to a temple. The in-room amenities were wonderful: whole coffee beans, a grinder, a coffee pot and cups, a separate teapot and teacups, pajamas, robes, and any necessary toiletries. The provided breakfast and dinner was delicious, traditional Japanese fare with English menus to explain the nightly courses (though I'd still suggest having a translator app). Last, but certainly not least: the baths were incredible. I appreciate that the private baths did not need a reservation and were all themed differently. So relaxing!! All my worries melted away here.

We had a room with beautiful view to green mountains it was very nice. The room had big and comfortable bed. We could leave the window opened for the night so fresh forest air come in. The bathroom and the toilet were well equipped and luxury. I highly recommend to reserve for a dinner, it was very delicious and contained wide range of fresh Japanese ingredients. The breakfast was also fine. The onsen is located at a peaceful place in the forest looking to a spring and a small waterfall. We reserved a private bath, it was great too. It was a pleasant stay 😊

Oboke Iya Onsen-kyo, Miyoshi
Featuring beautiful nature views from its rooftop hot spring bath, Hotel Kazurabashi offers Japanese-style rooms and a dining room where food is prepared in the hearth at the guest's table. For more relaxation, it has a sauna and a games room, while massages can be arranged. Beautiful hotel hidden between the mountains in the valley. The japanese rooms were big and comfortable, loved having access to very fresh water all the time. The staff were really attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. The hotel also offers a free night tour to the vine bridge, which I highly recommend. The outdoor onsen is breathtaking, you reach it by using a cable car(or climbing it yourself). Very well maintained and beautiful setup, and you can literally sit for hours looking at its beautiful real nature background. Outside of the onsen, there is a very old rest area with tea and water, and a sunken hearth (irori). The smell of its burning wood creates a very pleasant aroma. Highly recommend sitting on the tatami in the room while the sun shines through the windows so you experience shades of red you have never seen before. Dinner and breakfast use local ingredients, and everything you try is explained in great detail. Also, you get to hear the beautiful singing voice of the owner of the hotel while she sings you a traditional japanese song during the dinner time. Because the hotel is located in a remote valley and unless you have a car, it will be hard to get around. The buses pass scarcely and they are small and can be crowded. If you try to walk, you will always be walking on the road. You can rent assisted bicycles in the hotel, which makes it easier to get around. Oh, and you will probably see wild monkeys crossing the roads if you venture around.

The location is great, with the famous Kotohira Shrine just nearby the hotel. We love the onsen on the balcony, and exceptional breakfast and dinner prepared to us. Plus point to Judee who serves us with all the patience. The hotel alone would let you take lots of photos, it's too beautiful!

Very friendly owner and staff and the food was great! We stayed two nights and got completely different meals for dinner, which were both fantastic. You can go to the next door hotel for nice open-air onsen and mention the ryokan and get a discounted entry ticket, and the onsen is really nice.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable hotel, located conveniently next to Dogo Onsen. The room was clean and comfortable, staff was attentive, and extra amenities were provided (including yukata to visit Dogo Onsen/wear in the rooms) - highly recommend this hotel.
Comfy futons. Good public onsen bath. Bathroom was sufficient. Fairly good location. Staff was amazing - helped us carry out luggages from the street to the reception area.
The breakfast, the onsen, and the location of the ryokan were all perfect. The staff is also very friendly!
The kimonos in the room, the traditional breakfast and the onsen were amazing.
The location is incredible, directly opposite dogo onsen. The room was very spacious, especially compared to Japanese standards. The staff were very helpful in assisting in getting into the car park (it was our first time driving into a stacked car park). The inclusive Japanese breakfast was tasty. It was the first time my wife enjoyed eating natto. It was great to walk to the dogo onsen annex in the supplied yukata, winter jacket, and clogs.
A wonderfully authentic ryokan experience. Hisa is a great host and makes a delicious Japanese breakfast. The room was beautiful - paper walls and tatami, all in great condition. I slept fine on the futon. The shared bathroom was clean and pleasant and the onsen fun to use. Close to public onsens which you can walk to in the provided beautiful yukata.
Close to the station, with tatami floor and futon beds. Perfect experience as a local type of accomodation. Breakfast was sufficient and onsen is nice.
