A beautiful retreat from the big city. I loved the short 5 minute walk to the ocean or a gorgeous walk along the Itoo river. The walk to the hostel was really lovely. I'll never forget sitting in the viewing area in our room as it rained under the moonlight.

Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Shrine is 25 km away. The evening meal was a delicious curated seasonal multi-course menu, with tender wagyu beef as the highlight. The staff were so attentive even though we had very limited Japanese. And of course the room, onsen and view were amazing.

Isoaruki no Yuyado Ushiogumo -6 years or older- features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kawazu, 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Guests staying at this ryokan have access to a balcony. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The food was excellent, the room was amazing and most importantly the hospitality was top rate. We were looked after by Miwa for both our meals and she was brilliant. I hope we can make it back someday.

I absolutely loved my stay here! Everything was just perfect — from the cozy atmosphere to all the thoughtful details. There were so many things to enjoy: the onsen, yoga room, and even a calligraphy room! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive — Takumi and Hosaka especially made me feel so welcomed and cared for. The location is also amazing. The hotel offers bikes, and I took one out to explore the area — I got to see Mount Fuji and the most breathtaking sunset. It was such a special moment! And the free bar was such a fun surprise! I left feeling relaxed and happy, and I’d definitely love to come back again.

The property is located 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple and 48 km from Mount Daruma. Lake Ashi is 28 km away and Hakone Open-Air Museum is 34 km from the ryokan. Grandmother of this hotel was soooo nice, although there was language barrier, she made us comfortable and happy every day. She always gives us snacks and other omiyages, and satisfied all your needs. Will come back this summer.
