The place is exceptionally located, in the middle of nature, though not easy to access. The hot springs are also great. Overall, our experience was memorable.

One should give a „11“! Located about 25 Minutes by foot in the hills across the shrines overlooking inari River, absolutely quiet. A Shuttle picks up and drops off (do Not Let the rather harsh Tone of the Emails concerning early checkin (extra cost) Irritate you - that is probably die to the poor English); if you Are staying for more than one Night, they ask you Several times when and how they could Transport you to town etc. Recommend at least two Nights so you can enjoy the Room, the food, the Drinks, the music, the atmosphere. Rooms very spacious; the huge Window is fantastic (and Not cold surprisingly, so Sitting in Front sipping Tea or freshly brewed coffee is a treat Even when cold outside). Free bathtub plus shower (separate). Very stylish and comfortable. Huge bed, rather soft (by japanese standards). The decoration addresses European style luxury travellers, but obviously the japanese guests appreciate it, too. Two floors of rooms. The Lobby downstairs is also the dining Room. Free sparkling wine (very good!) and drinks from 5-6. during dinner, they Play music/videos to the guests‘ wishes. A absolute marvel is the food- do Not know where they found this Cook. Mixture of japanese and french Cuisine at its best. Very Tasty, very elegant Concept of five or six courses; breakfast on a tray with all you could ask for. The Bread (Three different kinds to three courses at Dinner, two different kinds for breakfast and no repetition) is superb and of the finest Kind! Strongly recommend to opt for the breakfast and dinner included plan! (Especially since all other options are in town). The interior speaks of the owner - a marketing Specialist who has a Vision. Very remarkable is the - abundant- staff. Extremely Super Polite (Even by japanese standards)and attentive (e.g. dried and cleaned our Shoes as a Service after we had taken a hike into the Woods during rain), very sweet and engaged. English is little present but the kindness makes up for that completely.

Fantastic experience I believe we were the only westerners there during our 2 night stay The service from the staff was the best we have ever experienced Everyone from the porter, front desk, kitchen and wait staff were fantastic The level of English was quite basic but this did not hinder our enjoyment at all The onsens really are as big and beautiful as the pictures suggest Westerners should not be afraid of the experience, they have a helpful guide on their website. Please be aware that guests with tattoos are not allowed in the public onsens (this applies for the majority of onsens but some places do cater for tattooed guests) The full Ryokan meal service was incredible So many flavours with the highest quality seasonal ingredients, all presented beautifully on incredible crockery We stayed in a Japanese style room in the east building which allowed us to enjoy a private room experience. Please check with the hotel if they will be able to accommodate this for you, it is worth it in my opinion A special thank you to the kitchen staff who were so delightful We had a travel mishap and phoned ahead to let them know we would be 30 minutes late (we were already booked on the last available time slot). They were very kind in accommodating us and did not rush us through our meal Excellent value for money, we were so satisfied with the experience Fantastic stay, we were sad to leave and we would love to return on our next trip to Japan

Kinugawa Park Hotels is a nice Japanese-style inn with large and comfortable rooms offering both European beds as well as Tatami mats. The Onsen public baths are a bit dated, but well laid out and a nice experience.

Comfortable rooms/lovely and comfy futons/ however the room is a little dated. The onsen is great, we enjoyed it and the fireworks on the day we stayed were spectacular and fun.

Lovely Ryokan with very nice private Onsens, both indoor and outdoor. The building is a bit old but the staff is very welcoming and accommodating and the food served is absolutely delicious! They were able to accommodate our 1 person not eating meat since we let them know in advance and prepared one of the best dinners we've had in Japan!

It was our first time staying in a ryokan, and it did gave us a really good impression. Property itself was nice, located in a small town beside the river. Room was facing the river so we can hear the soothing noise from the river. Dinner was excellent--food kept on coming, great quality, great variety. They even managed to cater our diet (without pork and alcohol). I love the outdoor onsen. It's very relaxing to soak in the hot water facing the river.

Rooms are very big and comfy, onsen is small but very nice to enjoy. Nikko is quiet and calm and so was this location. Breakfast included was the right choice because it‘s hard to find something to eat nearby especially in the morning. Ryokan is amazingly beautiful and futon was adequate.

Absolutely surpassed my expectation as I'd thought it was a hostel but it turned out to be a dorm room within a great hotel! Highly recommend to opt for the food included (especially dinner) as it's a sumptuous 6-course meal with limitless alcohol. Great way to try the cuisine of Japan. The common room also had beautiful views of the lake, free snacks and drinks (including alcohol), games and hammocks. The onsen was great! Everything was clean and to a high standard. They also gave slippers, free toiletries and yukatas.

This stunning hotel has a private onsen for rent in addition to its public pools for its quests (indoor+ open air with view, jacuzzi, sauna). They are also tattoo friendly! The rooms are traditional Japanese tatami and they make the beds/take them away for you. They have a game room (billiards, pingpong table etc). The dinner shabushabu was excellent!

The location is great just a stroll away from the Nikko Toshogu Shrine. We enjoy the traditional Japanese decor of the hotel, and sleeping in futons. The room is clean. The outdoor onsen is great.
