This was my third stay now and it keeps impressing me. Tranquil building, polite staff, excellent food and extras like drinks and snacks during the day. It is very relaxing and quiet inside and you can soak in the outside and inside bath as much as you want (private and public). Thank you again for the spontaneous pick up from the bus station when it started pouring. Can recommend at least 2 nights including dinner and breakfast and take your time to get out of the busy cities.

We will be back! WOW. This was a shot in the dark booking since I couldn’t find a place near the beach that was tattoo friendly. We were blown away at the facility, amenities and overall beauty of the location. I booked 3 rooms. Everyone had their own private onsen bath. My husband and I upgraded to the sauna barrel room and we LOVED IT. The guys all did sauna in the morning. They even give you handmade authentic sauna hats. Breakfast was simple but filling. Half of the group did the Japanese style, half did American. My jumbo toast made me feel like I was in a Ghibli movie having breakfast. There is a vending machine in the breakfast area was a variety of snacks and drinks. Our van made it on the roads to the property. So a standard vehicle will have no issue. Beautiful creak flowing in the backyard of every room. Every room has an entrance, toilet & sink room, living room (doubles as bedroom bc you have tatami beds), vanity sink & rack, THEN sliding door to your shower & bath, THEN sliding door to your porch with seating. Our room had the barrel immediately to the left of the porch with ANOTHER outdoor tub. Price was excellent!!

Weniger als 48 km von Bahnhof Takayama und 26 km von Kamikochi entfernt in Takayama gelegen, bietet die Unterkunft Hakuunsou Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten mit einem Restaurant, kostenloses WLAN in der... Wir sind jetzt seit drei Wochen auf Japanreise, aber nichts hat uns so berührt, wie der Aufenthalt in diesem kleinen Riokan in den Bergen. Die Gastgeber sind so allerliebst, dass einem das Herz aufgeht. Es handelt sich natürlich um ein sehr altes Haus, weswegen ich nicht alle Punkte für Komfort gegeben habe, was sich aber von selbst versteht. Wenn man auf einem Futon schläft und sich auf ein altes Haus einlässt, dann kann man nicht den Komfort eines fünf Sterne Hotels verlangen. Das Essen war ebenfalls einzigartig, aber eigentlich will ich nicht zu viel verraten - das würde es kaput machen.

We're very happy that we selected Hidaya as our first ever ryokan experience. The staff was lovely, instantly made us feel at home and helped us to get the most of our short visit to Takayama (recommendations, taxi and restaurants booking, yukata rental and much, much more). The Japanese style breakfast was delicious and varied from day to day. The place is very charming and well maintained. The small hot bath was a very nice addition that we've used multiple times. It's located quite far from any attractions so a car/taxi is your best bet but it can be reached on foot within 10min from a nearby bus stop and around 30min from the historic center. Highly recommended! Takayama was definitely a highlight of our trip and Hidaya was big part of it. Thank you for your hospitality!
