Saint-Gilles les Bains is a working town: attached to a tourist area, yes, but a town nonetheless. The information office has friendly helpful staff to advise you, but you need to choose where to stay according to what you want to do. Reunion has a lot to offer, all in range of Saint-Gilles les Bains but best with a car. On a small island where no journey takes a long time, it is wasteful to be tied to timetables. One thing to bear in mind: Saint-Gilles les Bains is on the side of the island that does not have world records for rainfall.

The scenery, beaches, and village life. Using local affordable bus routes. You could grab some food anywhere you go and enjoy your day. A lot of nearby places and plages to visit. Avoid too much sun so make sure that hat and light linen clothing is a must.

An amazing spot in Reunion island if you want to enjoy the beach. My family goes there regularly when traveling to Reunion island. The sunsets, the clear blue waters with corals and a variety of tropical fish, the soft sand and the hot sun, it is dreamy. There are some snack bars close the beach to enjoy traditional creole food or a quick sandwich, with a dodo beer or a cocktail. Very nice vacation area!

There are beautiful beaches and many restaurants nearby. Our favourite beach was the one right there at Hotel le Recif, but there are many ohters in the area to choose from. We rented a car for the few days and that helped a lot to get to the stunning sites on the island.

We stayed in August, during the peak of whale season, and absolutely delighted in the experience of seeing whales close to shore almost constantly from our room and from the pool deck. Swimming in the pool while watching wales at sunset was pure heaven. Also, the deluxe room is very comfortable and well-appointed, and it left me wanting nothing. Having underground parking was very convenient. Breakfast was full of diversity and always well stocked. Super easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Really excellent hotel!
I loved the outdoor swimming pool available at the exit from the terrace of our room, it's exceptional. I also loved the sun loungers around the pool but also facing the sea, on the sand ! The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from a tourist food area. I also appreciated the full breakfast with sea view as well as the salad at lunch. Congratulations also for the maintenance of the swimming pool which was always clean!
Breakfast is a bit expensive but very good and diverse options are available. Cakes are home made and have the typical flavors of reunion island. Food at the bar is very good, and the choice of (awesome) cocktails is updated daily. There is also easy access to some restaurants on the beach. The pool is very nice to stay when going into the ocean is prohibited due to currents/weather/sharks.
The hotel is well-located, nearby the beach and few steps away from restaurants and bars. It has a car park which is a life saver in St-Gilles since public parking in the vicinity is limited. The hotel has a really good restaurant, which is definitely a plus. Rooms are sufficiently comfortable and equipped with a coffee machine.
I like the hotel's location because it's only a 3-minute walk to the dock, a small beach, restaurants, and a lively harbor for out-of-sea tours. Because of their politeness and accommodating manner, the hotel staff made an excellent impression on me. Furthermore, the hotel's design makes it welcoming and comfortable.
This is a nice hotel compared to others on Reunion.
Breakfast is good quality and good variety.
Nice Gardens, pool, and beach.
Good service, staff friendly and helpful.
Protected beach, since it is a large lagoon. But for swimming it's not ideal since the water is not deep enough.
The location of the hotel is amazing- walking distance to a great beach with swimming and pedestrian only beachfront restaurants. The room was spacious for our family of 3 as included a pull out bed. Nice balcony.
We stayed at this hotel for some nights and it was great. Very well located, super clean, a useful kitchen, air conditioning inside the rooms, cozy terrace and the owner were super kind and friendly!
Beautiful hotel on the lagoon beach. Peaceful atmosphere. Rooms well appointed and comfortable. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Very French so useful to have a French phrase book with you.
Nice hotel with a personal touch due to its owner. Nice yard with exotic plants where you can enjoy breakfast and a refreshing pool. Nice rooms. Ca 15 min walk to the beach of les roches noires.
We are completely blown off by this beautiful hotel. Everything is excellent, the food, the ambience, the staff, the service, the sea; it was incredible and super! Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great attention to details especially in the surrounding area of the hotel. ( pool, terrace, beach )
The personnel is definitely a big plus, very polite and always smiling and ready to help.
