Very friendly staff. camp site outside in the grounds with a spacious driveway. There was no noise from the camper.
Breakfast. There was plenty of food at breakfast. Toast, ceral, fresh fruit, yoghurts, and the normal tea and coffee options. Croissants were also available. We got asked how we liked our eggs cooked for toast. Kids had beans on toast and plenty of beans, too.
This large Victorian building has character. 40 minutes from Cardiff city centre and 20 minutes from Cardiff International Airport, and less than 2 miles from the beach.

Really clean, really large family too. A double and two singles, there was also a chair and a desk. It's had a private entrance which was great for arriving and departing at anti social hours. Free parking in the car park and on all the surrounding roads. You can also get plates and cutlery if you wish to eat a takeaway.

Lovely house in the brand new development around the Barry Docks.
It's a short walk (600m ish) from Barry Dock train station, allowing easy access to Barry and Barry Island with regular and cheap trains.
Anna the host was really helpful.
The house was clean comfortable and ideal for our needs, attending a local event over a weekend.

Very clean and spacious. Had everything that we needed. Very close to the beach.
Interesting to see the new and the old. Massive amount of regeneration going on, but still parts that won't have changed in my life time. It's worth a walk round the whole of the "island" not just the promenade. Barry town centre is a bit run down but efforts being made to improve things.

Stayed in Barry as the hotel was A LOT cheaper than Cardiff...
Stayed in Barry as the hotel was A LOT cheaper than Cardiff for the bank holiday/Bruce Springsteen gig. 2 mins away from train station, pubs and chip shop. Ideal for what we needed the weekend.
Barry itself is OK and nearby is Barry Island fair and the beach. Not too far from the airport and half hr to cardiff on the train for £6.

Barry is my husbands home town. It is always good to visit.
Barry is my husbands home town. It is always good to visit. We usually stay in the Vale but this time we thought we would go for a cheaper option on the coast.
We were shocked at how disinterested our hosts were in our plight of arriving late at night due to 2 aircraft malfunctions. We had to stay elsewhere for the first night because they would not allow us entry to the flat despite them taking payment in full from our credit card.
Their main concern was whether we would dispose of the rubbish. There was no broom to sweep the floor. The plastic floor was beginning to peel and there were way too many pots of plastic cactus left lying about the place. Why?
There was a frying pan full of smelly fat left in the oven. the bed was way too small for two people and full of dips from previous occupants. For the first time in 42 years of being together we slept separately, My partner taking one of the single beds. The kitchen taps looked like someone had taken out their frustrations with a hammer.
On the plus side parking was good as was the location.

I stayed in Barry for 3 nights.
I stayed in Barry for 3 nights. I was visiting Wales for the Six Nations at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. There are plenty of hotels in Cardiff, but the prices were all excessive because of the Rugby event. Barry is nearby, a short, 4 quid train ride away from Cardiff Central which is pretty much the center of action, to include a short walk to the stadium.
Barry itself was a nice, quiet detour away from the Capitol city. I enjoyed a few restaurants and bars while staying in this small town.
I did not rent a car. Walked everywhere I needed within Barry.

Having grown up around the area I always love coming back and seeing the changes that have happened and I'm glad to say , all for the better.
There are some lovely coastal walks and the goodsheds are amazing , it's also nice that you can walk around the waterfront .
it was handy with the 304 outside with the bus going it to barry we stayed and done the gavin and stacey tour, Mike the bike is an amazing member of staff and a credit to your company made our stay alot better really nice to talk to have have a laugh with ( even if he is a little crazy) , all the staff was nice we stayed 2 nights and had our bedding changed on Sunday also the cooked breakfast was one of the best I have had at a hotel, the TV in the room was great with having freeview play and having access to all catch up tv
I thought that the hotel represented great value for the price I paid. The room was large with a comfy bed and tv. The bar in the hotel was great with a wide range of drinks. The hotel staff I met - Jacob and Emily, although young, were brilliant - very professional, friendly and nothing was too much bother... excellent front of house staff!. The hotel itself is right in the middle of Barry - close to shops, food outlets and the train station and a good 10 minute walk to Barry Island
Located about a 10 minute walk from the Barry Train Station, which is very accessible to nearby CARDIFF.
I liked the dine and drink options in Barry. Several options within the Goodstay compound. And downtown Barry is loaded with pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance.
My main reason for staying here was to watch the Rugby Six Nations at Principality Stadium...but the lodging costs in Cardiff were excessive. Goodstay Lodges worked out really, really well, for the most part.
Very modern property like a home from home.
So spacious and clean.
Enoch the landlord was fantastic.
Nothing was to much trouble.
He also gave us a parking permit for our stay.
The house had some lovely touches. Like the bed tv and massive free standing bath.
Location was brilliant walking distance to gavin and Stacey house. Barry island just a short walk. Shops restaurants also local.
Reasonably close to Cardiff but the quiet village location is delightful. Next door to a really intersting historic church.
The owners and staff all very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast and evening meal were delicious.
The back story of the ownership of this pub is very uplifting and you get a real sense of community here.
A very nice, clean and well equipped apartment.
Both the bed and the sofa are very comfortable.
Wide bath.
Smart locks/no keys.
Close to shops, bars and takeaways.
5min walk to train station.
4min train journey to Barry Island.
Guests are required to keep noise levels down after ten.
Nice quiet location. Easy parking. Comfortable bed. Every convenience in the flat you have at home and then some. Spotless clean and the host checked to see if you were happy. It didn’t hurt that everyone in Barry was so friendly as well.
Property was easy to find and enter thanks to hosts information. Hostess was friendly and welcoming. Close to Barry island. Comfortable beds and nice selection of breakfast food.
The staff are wonderful and so helpful. Really comfortable rooms and such a great location if needing to access cardiff airport. Parking was easy and stress free too.
