I stayed here with my sister and we absolutely loved this hotel, amazing location right by the water at Marina Grande. Every morning we left the hotel we kept saying to each other what a nice hotel it was! The lobby area is so clean and light and the staff were exceptional. They helped us with recommendations on where to get a good pizza, and helped us book the shuttle bus to Naples airport in advance. They were so welcoming every time we came back to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, we loved the pastries, yoghurts, fruit, fresh bread for toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes, so much choice! The rooms are small but just what you need, super comfy beds and lovely bathroom. We stayed in the room with no view which suited us well as we were out so much exploring and also there’s a lovely roof terrace where we took some cards up and had an aperol. Location wise I would absolutely recommend staying here, it could not have been better. The centre of Sorrento was quite busy (especially in the evening) and every time we got back to Marina Grande we were so glad to be back. It took us around 10 minutes or so to walk to the start of the historic streets, we are quick walkers though. It’s also such a lovely walk we really enjoyed it each day. Maybe even highlight of my day!? I also think the best restaurants were in Marina Grande as the seafood and pasta was unbelievable and so nice to see all the little fishing boats parked up in the bay. Couldn’t speak more highly of this hotel and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I come back!

FAQs about hotels in Sorrento

Colourful and Captivating

Overlooking the Bay of Naples and with views of the Vesuvius volcano, Sorrento is a colourful town in Campania. According to the Greek legend, it was the land of the sirens that had the power to enchant with their singing.

The town of Sorrento has gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and a big variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Built around the 11th century, the Romanesque Cathedral of Sorrento is the city’s most important landmark. The charming Bell Tower with the beautiful majolica clock is the first thing that you will notice.

The picturesque harbour of Marina Grande has some of the best restaurants in the city. Wander around during sunset and you will see fishermen cleaning their nets. Marina Piccola is the place to get a ferry to Capri, Amalfi and Naples.

Born in a garden of lemon and oranges, the traditional yellow liquor of limoncello is a unique aperitif or digestive drink. The mediterranean climate of Sorrento helps in the production of this famous refreshment.

Naples International Airport is located 6 km from the Capodichino district of Naples and about 29 km from Sorrento. You can stay in one of the Sorrento hotels, B&Bs and pensions that Booking.com offers.

It is very hilly which I did expect so no surprise but getting about if you have mobility problems could be an issue. It is very busy even for May. The locals are very nice and friendly. Drinks and food are quite expensive generally and getting around can be expensive. If I were to come again I would recommend staying in the very centre of Sorrento and to avoid hotels with courtesy buses unless you are happy to walk or pay for extra taxis when the bus isn’t running at a time convenient for you. Most tours have free hotel pick ups but not all so check this when booking anything otherwise you could end up paying a fortune just getting to the meeting point! Overall a pretty place with lots to do but expensive. If you like seafood - visit Marina Grande and eat at Porto Marina restaurant. You can’t book but we went at 7.30 and had to wait 10 mins but they gave you a glass of wine while you waits. Beautiful place to watch the sunset and excellent seafood at a fairly reasonable price for Sorrento. I’d say the best meal we had in Sorrento.

Sorrento is beautiful with lovely shops and restaurants. The buildings are lovely too. Not that easy to get to beaches. We're there for 3 weeks in May and temps ranged from 19 to 28c. Plenty of sunshine. A little rain but no great harm.

It is a wonderful location with plenty to do and good access to Pompeii and Herculaneum. It was busy in May so worth considering if you are traveling in July and August. Research your restaurants well. Many in the centre seemed ok but basic fare by Italian standards. Nalu Trattoria and Pizzeria da Franco were fantastic and are worth a visit.

It is beautiful but certainly geared towards extracting every last dollar from tourists. The service in some places was excellent, others not so much. I love the ancient connections and the buildings but having to pay for every little thing is tiring. Whilst I understand that paying to use a toilet is common... 1euro to use a poorly maintained toilet with barely any toilet paper, no toilet seat and a very abrupt person manning it... Not my idea of encouraging. In short, I can tick it off my bucket list but I would not bother going back. My highlight was engaging with the artisans from Bimonte, who sculpt cameo's. Beautiful, friendly people who are also very talented and happy to share their craft knowledge.

Sorrento is not too big so a couple of days in the town is enough, but from Sorrento there is access to Capri, Amalfi Coast, Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculanium and Naples - so there are plenty of day trips. We ate at several bars and restaurants and they were all very good. We particularly liked the restaurant Leone Rosso and gelateria David - they are next to each other very close to the train station. We also ate at several places off Piazza Tasso. Can recommend the free walking tour by Guru Guides.

Handy location at the end of the main street of the old town. You may not get the views of the hotels further out, but you don't get the long, uphill walk either! Huge room, useful balcony. Everywhere - room, corridors, reception, breakfast area - all spotlessly clean and spacious. Massive breakfast spread to help yourself from - best I've had in Italy and I've been a few times. Helpful reception staff. Don't be put off by the word Hostel. It's more like a hotel, without a restaurant. The Deluxe bit is more appropriate.

By far our favourite place we stayed in Italy. The host Anna and her family were amazing providing everything we needed and more! The breakfast here was amazing and we deeply regret not opting for dinner as well. The house itself is amazing with nice comfy rooms with air conditioning and well-stocked fridges. Sosò is in a perfect quiet location and only takes 15 minutes to walk to the centre or a 5-minute walk from some of the best restaurants and nice bars Sorento.

The property was super clean and comfortable. The location was great. Everything in Sorrento was no more than 15 minutes walk (the station, the marine port, the center). Emily and her mother were super super helpful and nice. They speak great English and there was no problem with the communication. Furthermore, we had the best breakfast in a B&B in Italy, delivered every morning in our room at an hour we choose.

Liked everything about the location, apartment and facilities. Its very secure, felt like home and staff is very very helpful. Gave all instructions very clearly and helped me in booking the last moment taxi to airport. Everything was just beautiful. Loved Italy loved Sorrento and people there.

Extraordinary views, fantastic room. Hotel was kind enough to offer a free upgrade. So nice that it was almost surreal to be there. Breakfast was terrific, from the food to that fantastic view (Vesuvius in the distance - bay of Napoli) The highlight of our two week trip in Italy

We stayed in Sorrento for 2 nights as part of a longer trip through Spain and Italy and this place has been by far the best. The room is so cozy and super clean and Sabine and Nadia, our hosts are incredibly kind and always go the extra mile to make you feel home.

Everything was just excellent, super clean. Changed towels daily, made bed, cleaned. Valerio was outstanding in service and went out of his way to call a taxi and take us to the meeting point. Out of my 21 days thru Italy this one of the most memorable stays
