We paid extra for an executive room as we sleep much better in a super king bed. The room was very nice. Spacious room, comfy bed and great balcony which we may have used if we were staying more than one night. The fresh fruit and yoghurt at Breakfast was excellent.

Shanklin and Sandown are beautiful beaches but both towns are dying. Shops empty etc. Parking expensive and a nightmare to find which took a lot of the enjoyment out of the trip. Parking charged 24 hours 7 days a week.

The hotel is located in old Shanklin which is delightful.
The hotel is located in old Shanklin which is delightful. The main part of Shanklin is run down and not appealing. Despite this it has an excellent beach and would be a good place for a beach holiday with the right weather.

The beachfront and beach were lovely, accessible from the clifftop area via a lift suitable for everyone. Lots of places to sit and eat and drink. The far end of the beach past the Fisherman's cottage pub was dog friendly with a wide flat sandy area. Shanklin chine was lovely to walk through and explore as was the old village full of charming old shops and buildings. Shanklin town centre was within a short walk with a mix of shops some areas did look a little tired but we found virtually all places were dog friendly. The station was only a short walk from our hotel with a regular reliable service to Ryde. Using the Trainline app enabled us to get flexible day returns at reduced costs and we could hop on and off along the journey. Overall a very pleasant and well positioned place to stay, the hotel and staff were wonderful very welcoming and accommodating who made as much fuss of our dog as us.

Shanklin is a quaint place. Nice beach and quite long.
Shanklin is a quaint place. Nice beach and quite long. Shops could probably do with an upgrade but had a nice couple of pubs and excellent Italian restaurant, plus Indian and Chinese. High Street has a few coffee shops but also some empty shops like most places these days. You can get a lift down to the beach area or walk but it has quite a hill on the way up. Good walk to Sandown along the promenade. Local roads need a bit of work done to them but main roads ok. Lovely countryside and views of the sea. Couple of nice pub/restaurants in the Esplanade worth visiting.
Have today 09/09/2021 just arrived back in our Home Town after spending a few nights over in Shanklin! Taking a Toddler away for the first time is daunting so we wanted a self-contained apartment, we couldn’t fault anything about the property itself - it’s exactly what we wanted! From the moment we booked to the moment we left, Richard and Partner are very accommodating but also left us to it without intruding on our self catering accommodation! Currently working out our next availability to re-book 😊
A warm welcome was awaiting our arrival at this B&B by Mark and Caz and they were the perfect hosts. The entrance and dining facilities were spotlessly clean and tidy. We booked the small room which was perfect for our short stay. The room had everything we needed and again lovely and clean and we had a comfortable night sleep. Breakfast was very well presented and very nice. The B&B is in a really location for the beach and Shanklin old village. Would definitely recommend.
The views at the Brunswick are lovely, we enjoyed the 2 for 1 cocktails in the stylish lounge area overlooking the water (if it was warmer weather the garden would have been the perfect spot to enjoy the vista). The food is great, very tasty breakfast menu (particularly the scrambled eggs!) and the one dinner we ate was delicious. Staff are professional and friendly. Free parking is handy. The hotel is in a fab location, close to the beach, restaurants etc.
Fabulous stay, really recommend 😊
Small Friendly Hotel, run by a wonderful couple. Rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Excellent Breakfast. Has a lovely lounge area with a small bar over looking the beautiful front garden and Sea Views. At the rear of the hotel is a fabulous pool area. Plenty of car parking facilities. Nice walk down to the beach front. We loved the old village of Shanklin, with some excellent restaurants - 5 minute walk.
The location of the hotel is great for Shanklin, it’s an easy downhill 10 minute walk to local restaurants and a further 5 minutes to the seafront. The hotel is also in a great location to reach the coastal path.
The staff are fantastic and do all they can to fulfill your requests and give you a great experience. The breakfast was lovely and you have so much choice. We only had dinner once in the hotel and my husband really enjoyed his pie!
Salma was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the location, a great base from which to explore, close to Shanklin old village and The Chine. Sitting in the garden with the amazing views was very relaxing. Breakfast was more than adequate, with all the usual items available. Very peaceful overnight, we all slept well. Hope to return one day.
This isn’t what you would call a ‘modern’ hotel but everything was perfect for our weekend stay. We even arrived later than the advised check-in time and there was a member of staff on reception waiting for us to give us our keys. Stunning views and breakfast with added bonus of a small swimming pool which was very nice.
Had a lovely 2 night break at this hotel with our two teenagers. Great breakfast and lovely relaxing evenings enjoying a drink in the bar or beautiful gardens. Fantastic location near to the Beach and old village and chine.
Hosts were great and very welcoming and we enjoyed a lovely chat with Nick in the bar.🍓 🍹
Friendly welcoming hosts.
Spotlessly clean accommodation.
Thoughtful touches like homemade cake on arrival, fresh milk & water in the fridge
Amazing breakfast with the best homemade bread.
Easy 10 minute walk to Shanklin Old Village & short walk to the seafront
Lovely old large stone house in Shanklin Old Village. Nice traditional reception rooms with lounge and restaurant areas. An honesty bar that we enjoyed quietly at the end of the evening. Room was v clean and good size. Staff were very friendly and welcoming
Lovely spacious apartment with all the facilities you need. Thoughtful touches, a welcome pack with tea, coffee and fresh milk. A cleaning pack with bin liners and dishcloth. A pair of binoculars to enjoy the view. 10 minutes walk to Shanklin Old Village
I like level of clean room and shower. Very like quality of bed and linen, nice white towels. Thank you for this it is really important for me.
Location was amazing, quiet neighborhood, close to Shanklin beach.
Great location for Shanklin Old Village and the beach. Friendly staff, comfortable room and lovely breakfast. A good touch with lots of Isle of Wight books to look at during your stay.
The location was very good, all local attractions were within easy reach. The hotel has lovely common areas and the terrace. Breakfast service was good and hosts were welcoming.
Nice place near Shanklin waterfront. Easy road links to the rest of the island. Both hosts were friendly and helpful. Would recommend and stay here again when I return to IOW.
Excellent choices for breakfast and delicious . Property was well placed for all local areas - close to beach, shops, bars & restaurants, old village and chine.
