Set back a couple of streets from the main harbour and about 800m from the ferry pier, this hotel was acceptable but I wish I had looked harder at competitors.

Puerto Barquerizo Moreno is a great center of San Cristobal where you encounter sea lions on the beach along the main street. It is also full of charming restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops where prices are more reasonable than Santa Cruz.

I enjoyed walking in direction to Bahia Tijeretas, Playa Baquerizo, Playa La Loberia, Las Negritas view and also to the local mine near the airport. The evening / dinner in The Pier restaurant was excellent. The afternoon trip to El Junco volcano, Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado was not worth the money, although swimming near Playa Puerto Chino was nice.

I came for a volunteer trip during which we did the 360 boat...
I came for a volunteer trip during which we did the 360 boat tour (snorkeling in 3 locations) and a trip to the highlands together (2 separate days). I stayed 3 extra days alone, which is either not enough or just enough depending on what you want to do. I do NOT recommend staying the entire time on San Cristobal because you’ll run out of things to do but I found out too late that a day trip to Santa Cruz is better if you can dedicate 1.5-2 full days (depart a 7 am and return the next morning or afternoon). A same day trip only gives you about 7 hours before you have to return. To go to Isabela requires 2 separate boat trips and at least half a day (not sure about Española but it is currently closed). You can visit all the major beaches in 1-2 days but anything else on the island requires a booked boat trip so if you want to snorkel in every single spot you need to spend probably 5 days minimum. Snorkeling every single day isn’t for me so depending on your interests, plan accordingly.
Except for Playa Mann, most of the beaches are a little far and/or require a hike over lava rocks to access so bring good walking shoes over sandals if you have to pick.
Overall after 3 more days I was bored and ready to leave, but if I had more time to visit the other islands I would probably have felt differently!

The town is compact and convenient for travelers.
The town is compact and convenient for travelers. Only 10 minutes walk from the airport to downtown. Most of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, beaches locate within a 10-15 minutes walk distance. Beaches are full of wild animals such as sea lions, pelicans, iguanas, crabs, and fishes. The climate is quite comfortable. Safe to walk even in night time.

It is a nice, peaceful city. People is friendly and helpful. Local authorities have a good Information Office that is ready to help you to get around. Restaurant Giuseppe is exceptionally good. Sea wolves will be found in every beach and giant Galapagos turtles can be seen in a nursery, designed for conservation. There are nice natural places reachable with a short walk. There are good places for diving and snorkeling.

I liked Playa Mann a lot.
I liked Playa Mann a lot. Very convenient and economical for lunch and coffee. Lots of sea lions which are tame! A great way to get around is to hire a bike......about 15 bucks per day. Great walks and sightseeing via El Centro de Interpretation. This is the starting point for some great beaches and snorkelling.

Jose and Lu were so welcoming. Helping us plan our day, organising a guided tour, recommending a restaurant, sorting our laundry. They were always on hand to answer our questions or provide help. It genuinely felt like we were their friends, rather than just guests at the hotel. The hotel breakfast was a highlight.....home cooked and delicious with local treats. We only had one night at the Casa Playa Mann, but we wished we had stayed longer. Strongly recommend!!
We loved our stay at Dolphin House! Christian and his family are so kind and helpful and want you to have a wonderful stay! They recommended restaurants, booked tours for us, and drove us to and from the airport. Great location, clean and reasonably priced. Hotel provides beach towels and top-notch snorkeling equipment for $5 for the whole stay. Rooms 9 and 10 have a great balcony. We would definitely stay here again!
Nice property.Very nice family runs hotel. They offer me nice 360 tour what was the highlight of my stay in San Chistobal. Very nice breakfast (you can let them know day before if you have any trip so they can prepare breakfast before you leave... it is so nice!)
It is about 30 minute walk (or few minutes taxi ride) to Playa Loberia - very nice spot to snorkle, widelife watching or sunset!
Fantastic stay at an excellent hotel! Perfect location, and beautiful little stroll to the town center.
Huge room, with an equally huge balcony with 2 hammocks, which we definitely napped in. Loved the ocean view too, it makes such a difference!!
Eduardo and Lina were wonderful hosts, lovely people. We always felt taken care of.
The breakfast was delicious as well. Highly recommend!!
This is a family owned hotel, and they treated us like members of their family! It is located a little ways off the main part of town, but it was an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Taxis are also plentiful and cheap. They served us a beautiful breakfast each morning on a third floor open terrace. They also came to the airport to pick us up when we first got there. Great place!
The large bathroom was a nice surprise. Beautiful view from the room. Helpful service. No problems with small ants (which we had encountered at another San Cristobal hotel). Great location, easy to get to local restaurants and the pier. Taxis were almost always quickly available on the street just below. And, the hotel would be happy to call one for you if needed.
Location was great right next to the ferry terminal and hundreda of sea lions. They are fun to watch and take pictures of. The hotel was also newly built. Host was a really nice, friendly guy. He made us breakfast on the rooftop deck in the morning. Sadly our stay was only for 1 night, would have loved to stay longer.
What a charming little hotel! Gorgeous unique mosaic decor, designed by the wonderful owner, David, who could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Delicious fresh breakfast, lots of space inside and out to relax, including large sofa areas. Drinking water refill station. Short walk to the Malecon.
This is one of my favorite hotels of all time! We had rooms DIRECTLY next to the pool, so great for our kids. This place is gorgeous with mosaic tile art everywhere. Staff is awesome. Help yourself to beers and waters and just write down what you take, pay later. This place was so laid back.
the foyer has been recently renovated and is beautiful. The breakfast included is good to set you up for the day. The people that run the hotel are really friendly, and the location is a few minutes walk to the pier so really easy access to everything you need.
The hotel and staff could not have been more convenient. We relaxed by the pool before we walked to three different beaches for snorkeling. We were steps away from the cutest little town in the Galapagos, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Thanks for everything, Tatiana!
Nice quite spacious room. Good breakfast in the adducent café. Close to the main boulevard, this hotel is surrounded by little eateries. Water dispenser for drinking water and station for tea and coffee. Pool table and hammocks in the open air lounge.
The hotel manager was wonderful - went totally above and beyond. Very happy to give advice about sightseeing and arrange taxis. She even lent our kids her family's boogie board to take to the beach!
Good location 5mins walk to downtown, reception is fancydesign, room is simple (looks different from photos) and clean. Breakfast is delicious, hotel owner is very helpful and speaks good English.
the hotel is in a great location. it is family-run and everyone was super friendly. Very accommodating with all our diving luggage with storing it and getting to and from the pier.
Not only was the room spacious and luminous, the hotel clean and the breakfast good. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating, always with a big smile.
